The Online Railbird Report: Ike Haxton Wins Big; Doug Polk & "Denoking" Feud, and More
The 2014 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) has headlined the online action on PokerStars as of late, but over on Full Tilt Poker the high-stakes cash games have been going strong.
Over the past week, no one did better at the virtual felt than Isaac luvtheWNBA Haxton, who won $712,954 in just 2,063 hands over 19 sessions. Other big winners included Cort thecortster Kibler-Melby (+$480,972 in 14 sessions/1,460 hands), Kyle KPR16 Ray (+$411,456 in 6 sessions/575 hands), and Doug WCGRider Polk (+$388,836 in 25 sessions/10,999 hands).
On the other end of the spectrum, no one lost more than Denoking, who actually got off to a good start this week only to be dealt a huge blow by Polk, which is highlighted near the end of this weeks Online Railbird Report. Denoking ended up a $948,403 loser after 12,722 hands over 40 sessions.
Other losers included Viktor Isildur1 Blom (-$359,672 in 40 sessions/5,178 hands), Phil Polarizing Ivey (-$241,965 in 17 sessions/1,408 hands), kagome kagome (-$219,342 in 15 sessions/883 hands), and Patrik FinddaGrind Antonius (-$170,213 in 5 sessions/1,252 hands).
Haxton Takes $556,800 from Denoking
On Friday, September 12, Denoking and Haxton sat down at three tables of $50/$100 no-limit holdem and played for nearly two hours. During that time Haxton took his opponent for $70,000. They then decided to up the stakes and moved up to the $200/$400 tables and onward to $300/$600. They played at eight different tables, and after another few hours Haxton walked away a winner at six of them. All told, Haxton won $556,800 off "Denoking," which included winning all the days three biggest pots.
Have a look:
Hand #1: In the biggest hand of the day, "Denoking" ($159,996) opened for $1,500 from the button and then called when Haxton ($151,837.90) three-bet to $5,400 from the big blind. When the flop came down Q?7?A?, Haxton bet $5,400, "Denoking" called, and the 5? appeared on the turn.
Haxton bet again, this time $14,256, and "Denoking" called to see the A? river. Haxton bet $33,073.90 and then called off when "Denoking" shoved for $134,900. "Denoking tabled" the A?10? for trips, but it was no good as Haxton had filled up with the Q?Q?. Ship the $303,675.80 pot to Haxton.
Hand #2: "Denoking" ($120,457) raised to $1,500 and called when Haxton three-bet to $5,400, which brought about a flop of K?6?9?. Haxton continued for $7,128, "Denoking" popped it to $19,200, and Haxton pushed back to the tune of $41,700. Not to be outdone, "Denoking" four-bet to $96,000 and then called when Haxton five-bet shoved for $113,339 total.
"Denoking": K?Q?
Haxton: A?K?
Both players had flopped top pair, but Haxtons kicker had him well out in front. The turn and river were run twice, but neither the 3?7? on the first run nor 5?4? on the second helped "Denoking" and he watched the $237,478 pushed to Haxton.
Hand #3:
Denoking Rebounds with $228,900 Win Over Polk
A day after getting decimated by Haxton, "Denoking" was back at the no-limit holdem tables for more action. This time his opponent was Polk, and the duo played for nearly 11 hours at the $50/$100 and $100/$200 tables. When all was said and done, "Denoking" finished a $228,900 winner. Of the more than 4,000 hands played, just three of them were six figures.
Hand #1: At a $100/$200 table, Polk ($76,889.85) opened for $440 and was met by a three-bet to $2,480 from "Denoking" ($89,923.45). Polk four-bet to $7,440, "Denoking" called, and the flop came down 3?9?9?, which they both checked. When the A? appeared on the turn, "Denoking" bet $21,300 and Polk called. "Denoking" then bet $61,183.45 on the 4? river and Polk called off his remaining chips to create a pot of $153,779.70. Denoking tabled the 9?J? for flopped trips, and it was good as Polk simply mucked.
Hand #2: Polk ($111,691.35) raised to $440, "Denoking" three-bet to $2,480, and Polk pushed back with a four-bet to $7,440. "Denoking" responded by five-betting to $16,000 and then called when Polk six-bet jammed.
"Denoking": A?K?
Polk: A?Q?
With $109,332.70 on the line, the two agreed to run it twice. The K?6?3? flop on the first extended "Denokings" lead, but Polk picked up a flush draw on the 5? turn. Unfortunately for him, the 2? river was blank and "Denoking" locked up half the pot.
On the second run, Polk took the lead on the 6?4?Q? flop with a pair of queens, but "Denoking" flopped a flush draw. The 7? turn didnt complete it, but the J? river did and "Denoking" scooped the pot.
Hand #3: "Denoking" ($131,290.25) raised to $500 and then called when Polk ($51,136.20) three-bet to $2,200. When the flop came down 4?5?5?, Polk bet $2,420, "Denoking" called, and the 10? appeared on the turn. Polk bet $6,098.40, "Denoking" called, and the J? completed the board on the river. Polk opted to shove for his last $40,417.80, and "Denoking" wasted little time in making the call. Polk tabled the K?9? for a flush, but it was not good enough to win the $102,300 pot as "Denoking" rivered a bigger flush with the A?8?.
"Denoking" Takes More from Polk; Ray Wins in Tuesday FLO8 Action
On Tuesday, September 16, Kyle KPR16 Ray finished as the days biggest winner after banking $251,600 in a 150-minute afternoon session at the $2,000/$4,000 fixed-limit Omaha hi/lo (FLO8) tables against Viktor Isildur1 Blom.
Meanwhile, "Denoking" and Doug WCGRider Polk were back at the $100/$200 no-limit holdem tables, and after six hours of play at three tables, the former ended up a $131,100 winner. Despite losing in the match, Polk did take down the days biggest pot after being on the good end of a cooler.
Check it out:
Polk Gets His Revenge to the Tune of $736,600
On Thursday, September 18, Polk got his revenge on "Denoking" in a big way at the $200/$400 no-limit holdem tables. The two played a swingy nine-hour match, though Polk was in the black the entire time before finishing a $736,600 winner. During that time, the two played 14 six-figure pots, two of which were over $300K.
Hand #1: Polk ($195,987) opened for $880 and "Denoking" ($191,013.60) responded with a three-bet to $4,800. Polk then made it $14,400, "Denoking" five-bet to $37,600, and Polk shoved all in. "Denoking" called off and the two agreed to run it twice for the $382,827.20 pot.
"Denoking": K?K?
Polk: A?A?
It was a cooler, but "Denoking" had two chances to get lucky. The Q?4?3?J?7? on the first run gave both players a flush, but of course Polks was best. On the second run of Q?2?A?J?Q?, Polk filled up and ended up scooping the pot.
Hand #2: "Denoking" ($169,380.30) opened for $1,400 and then called when Polk ($253,514.60) three-bet to $6,800, which led to a K?Q?8? flop. Polk led out for $10,200, "Denoking" raised to $35,600, and Polk moved all in. "Denoking" called off and just like that there was a $338,760.60 pot on the line.
Polk: 10?9?
"Denoking": 8?8?
"Denoking" had flopped bottom set while Polk held flush and gutshot straight draws. The two agreed to run it twice, but Polk came up empty when the 10?3? blanked on the first run followed by the 2?9? on the second.
