The Online Railbird Report: "SallyWoo" Week's Biggest Winner; Tollerene Leads in 2013
Theres been an unconventional shake-up at the top of the 2013 online leader board. For most of the year, Kyle cottonseed1 Hendon led the way, most recently showing $3.7 million in profits. But now, according to HighStakesDB, Hendon has opted out from having his long term results displayed. With Hendon opting out, that means Ben Bttech86 Tollerene is now on top with $3,229,062 in profit. Interestingly, Tollerene took over the top spot without even playing this week.
One player who was in action was SallyWoo, who was far and away the weeks biggest winner with $920,721 in profit, which came from 1,904 hands over 13 sessions on Full Tilt Poker. Others who fared well on FTP were Viktor Isildur1 Blom (+$360,862 in 166 sessions/13,063 hands), Sanlker (+$332,869 in 43 sessions/5,833 hands), and bbvisbadforme (+174,748 in 25 sessions/2,122 hands). Meanwhile, Lefort was the weeks biggest winner on PokerStars winning $172,378 in 2,237 hands over 37 sessions.
On the flip side, there were some pretty big names on the losers list including Phil OMGClayAiken Galfond (-$500,280 in 11 sessions/1,188 hands), Patrik FinddaGrind Antonius (-$457,596 in 40 sessions/2,202 hands), Gus Hansen (-$340,396 in 14 sessions/1,809 hands), and Denoking (-$225,853 in 3 sessions/1,374 hands).
SallyWoo Destroys Gus Hansen at the FLO8 Tables
On Saturday, Oct.12, SallyWoo and Gus Hansen squared off at the $2,000/$4,000 fixed-limit Omaha hi/lo (FLO8) tables for 11 hours. The two actually played two sessions with a half-hour break in between.
In the first session, SallyWoo pulled out to a $200,000 lead in the first hour, but Hansen won a little back over the next two and a half. SallyWoo ended up winning $187,000 in the first session. Not long after, Hansen returned and the two played for six more hours. Things were even for the first hour, but after that the match belonged to SallyWoo. Hansen ended up losing $582,000 in 764 hands in the second match, which put him down $769,100 on the day.
Unfortunately FLO8 hands arent catalogued, so were unable to provide you with any hand highlights from the match.
bbvisbadforme vs. Isildur1
On Tuesday, Oct. 15, bbvisbadforme and Viktor Isildur1 Blom met at the $300/$600 and $500/$1,000 CAP no-limit holdem tables. After several hours of play, bbvisbadforme walked away with $151,200 in profit, which was enough to make him the days biggest winner. Here are a few hands from the match:
Hand #1: At a $500/$1,000 table, bbvisbadforme ($318,991.75) opened for $2,000, Blom ($35,946.55) called, and the flop came down 5?9?2?. After both players checked, the 7? hit the turn and Blom led out for $3,000. Bbvisbadforme called, the 2? completed the board on the river, and Blom led out for $8,000. Bbvisbadforme responded by capping it with a raise to $25,000 and Blom made the call. Bbvisbadforme tabled the 2?K? for trips, and it was good enough to win the $60,000 pot as Blom mucked.
Hand #2: In the same game, Blom ($30,500) opened for $2,000, bbvisbadforme ($56,997) called, and the flop fell J?A?9?. Bbvisbadforme check-called a bet of $2,000 and then check-raised Bloms bet of $5,000 on the 7? turn up to $26,000, which capped the pot. Blom called with the K?Q? for straight and flush draws, and he needed to hit as bbvisbadforme was ahead with the 9?7?. With $60,000 on the line, the river was run twice. Unfortunately for Blom, neither the 2? on the first run nor 7? on the second helped him, and bbvisbadforme scooped the entire pot.
Hand #3:
Kyle KPR16 Ray Wednesdays Only Six-Figure Winner
The World Series of Poker Europe has been taking place this week, so its understandable that some usual high-stakes characters are busy in France. That led to a lull in action during the middle of the week, though Kyle KPR16 Ray managed to win $125,500 on Wednesday. That came from 176 hands of $2,000/$4,000 fixed-limit Omaha hi/Low against Viktor Isildur1 Blom.
The duo played five sessions total, and in the first Ray won $92,000 in 23 minutes! Blom went on to lose $50,000 at the $200/$400 pot-limit Omaha, most of which went to SallyWoo.
Sanlker vs. Denoking in NLHE Action
The only notable action from Thursday was a $200/$400 no-limit holdem game between Germanys Sanlker and Swedens Denoking. The two played for 4.5 hours over three tables, and during that time each player pulled out to a six-figure lead. However, when all was said and done Sanlker walked away a $225,500 winner.
The match also produced three six-figure pots. Have a look.
Hand #1: Sanlker ($141,168.50) opened for $800, Denoking ($135,460) called, and the flop came out 5?6?7?. Denoking checked, Sanlker bet $800, and Denoking woke up with a check-raise to $3,200. Sanlker made the call and then bet $4,000 when Denoking checked the 10? turn. Denoking woke up with a check-raise to $19,300, Sanlker called, and the K? completed the board on the river. Denoking wasted little time in betting $66,200, and Sanlker made the call. Denoking rolled over the 9?8? for the nuts and Sanlker mucked. Ship the $179,000 pot to Denoking.
Hand #2: Denoking ($122,651) opened for $1,000 only to have Sanlker ($106,347) three-bet to $3,400. Denoking made the call and then watched Sanlker fire out $3,400 on the 9?5?Q? flop. Not to be outdone, Denoking raised to $9,200 and Sanlker called, which brought about the 7? turn. Sanlker proceeded to check-call a bet of $17,300, the 9? completed the board on the river, and Sanlker check-called another bet, this time $35,800. Denoking showed the 6?4? for a flush, but it was no good as Sanlker held a better flush with the 10?8?. The $131,400 pot was shipped over to Sanlker.
