Its been a while since weve brought you an edition of The Online Railbird Report. In our last report of 2012, we captured the action through Dec. 19, so we thought itd be prudent to get you caught up through the end of December, then next week well start with the action from the New Year.

Back in October, we told you about the race to become 2012s biggest online winner between Ben Sauce123 Sulsky and Ben Ben86 Tollerene. That race recently concluded with the turn of the new year, and spoiler alert you can read all about it in our recap titled Ben Sauce123 Sulsky Online Pokers Biggest Winner of 2012.

The biggest winners and losers from the last week and a half of 2012 came on Full Tilt Poker. SallyWoo was the biggest winner after banking nearly a million dollars in a weekend (+$980,291 in 23 sessions/4,785 hands). That was nearly twice as much the next biggest winner, Sebastien Seb86 Sabic, who won $508,892 in 6,711 hands spread across 65 sessions. Other big winners included Scott mastrblastr Seiver (+$489,988 in 12 sessions/1,923 hands), Alex Alexonmoon Luneau (+$475,569 in 59 sessions/8,508 hands), PostflopAction (+$392,308 in 32 sessions/2,917 hands) and Ronny ronnyr37617 Kaiser (+$348,858 in 94 sessions/10,183 hands).

On the flip side, Gus Hansens terrible year continued as he dropped $770,576 in 19,714 hands over 135 sessions. Not far behind was another familiar name, Eugene fishosaurusREX Yanayt, who lost $751,431 in 9,847 hands over 80 sessions. Other big losers included patpatpanda (-$443,692 in 43 sessions/5,745 hands), CRAIN85 (-$302,080 in 21 sessions/1,945 hands), Phil Polarizing Ivey (-$234,923 in 49 sessions/3,274 hands) and Viktor Isildur1 Blom (-$164,490 in 4 sessions/185 hands).

Seiver and Ivey Win Big In 2-7 Triple Draw Just Before Christmas

On Saturday, Dec. 22, Scott mastrblastr Seiver played four hours of $1,000/$2,000 2-7 Triple Draw and won over $333,000 in just 356 hands. Most of that came from Eugene fishosaurusREX Yanayt, who lost $204,000 to Seiver and ended up dropping $401,000 on the day. Whats more, Seiver played $500/$1,000 Mixed Games the same day and won even more money, bringing his daily total to $474,500. About a fifth of that came from O Fortuna PLS, who dropped $90,000 to Seiver in an afternoon session.

The next day, Ivey was in action and played two heads-up sessions of 2-7 Triple Draw against Alex Alexonmoon Luneau and Sebastien Seb86 Sabic. He won $150,000 from Luneau in a morning sessions, and then returned that night to relieve Sabic of nearly $300,000. Ivey lost a little back playing pot-limit Omaha, but still finished with $399,800 in profit on FTP. However, he didnt stop there. Ivey paid a quick 10-minute visit to PokerStars, where he plays under RaiseOnce, and won $60,000 from yiyi01 and 1Il|1Il|1il| in just 18 hands.

Plenty of Christmas Cheer for Kaiser

Ronny ronnyr37617 Kaiser

It was a merry Christmas for Ronny ronnyr37617 Kaiser, who banked $437,000 between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day playing CAP $200/$400 PLO on Full Tilt Poker. It was on Christmas Eve that he won $251,600, and he followed that up with an additional $185,800 on the holiday.

In his biggest pot, action was five-handed when Schoitl ($17,596) opened for $900 under the gun, POKERBLUFFS ($10,398) and Gus Hansen ($111,800) called from the cutoff and button respectively, Andreas skjervoy Torbergsen ($24,854) did the same from the small blind, and then Kaiser ($35,160) three-bet to $5,400 from the big. Schoitl responded by four-betting to $16,900 to cap the pot, and only Torbergsen and Kaiser called.

Showdown
Torbergsen: 10?J?Q?6?
Kaiser: 7?K?K?5?
Schoitl: A?A?2?J?

Schoitl was ahead with aces, but the 8?K?5? flop gave Kaiser the lead with a set of kings. The 7? turn then gave Torbergsen the lead with a flush, but Kaiser took it back when the 7? spiked on the river to give him a full house and the $49,798 pot.

Although that pot was nice, it wasnt Christmas Day's biggest pot. That one happened at a four-handed table when Hansen ($64,702.50) limped under the gun, Schoitl ($22,198) raised to $1,400 from the button, POKERBLUFFS ($46,698) three-bet to $5,000 from the small blind, and Kaiser ($105,901) capped it at $16,000 from the big. All three of the other players called and suddenly there was a $63,998 pot on the line.

Showdown
Hansen: 9?8?10?6?
POKERBLUFFS:A?Q?K?4?
Kaiser: A?A?8?5?
Schoitl: K?J?9?6?

The board ran out 9?10?3?10?9? and Hansen, who made tens full of nines, was pushed the pot.

Hansen vs. SallyWoo in FLO8

The Online Railbird Report: Gus Hansen Suffers .4 Million Downswing to Close 2012 102
Gus Hansen

In the last weekend of 2012, Gus Hansen and SallyWoo closed things out right with an epic heads-up fixed-limit Omaha Hi/Lo (FLO8) on Full Tilt Poker. Given that you already know Hansen finished as the weeks biggest loser, you probably guessed that SallyWoo emerged victorious, and youd be right. After playing for nine hours on Friday and another seven on Saturday, SallyWoo walked away a huge winner, taking $281,000 on the first day and $533,000 on the second.

As if that wasnt enough, the two returned to battle on Sunday, and once again things went SallyWoos way. He ended up taking $241,700 from the Great Dane, while Hansen went on to lose $551,000 on the dayputting him on a three-day $1.4 million downswing. Needless to say, it was a bad end to the year for Hansen, who finished 2012 as the biggest loser with his combined losses $4,297,985 between Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars. Meanwhile, SallyWoo went from the red to the black and finished as FTPs fifth-biggest winner in 2012 with $558,206 in profit.
