Steinbach Holds Again for Another Double

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Daewoong Song opened to 400,000 in middle position and Kris Steinbach shipped all in for 1,680,000 on his left. The action folded back to Song who asked for a count before making the call.

Kris Steinbach: {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Daewoong Song: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Steinbach held a slight lead heading to the flop of {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. Song picked up a straight draw to go with his two live cards but it wasn't enough on the {q-Spades} and {a-Diamonds} runout as Steinbach doubled up again.

Kris Steinbach shoved for 590,000 and Richard Mijares called.

Kris Steinbach: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Richard Mijares: {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The flop came {9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} giving Mijares additional outs with a straight draw. The turn was the {9-Spades} and the river was the {3-Diamonds} as Steinbach survived.

Guimond Catapults to the Top

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Florian Guimond already had one of the top chip stacks in the tournament on the last break, but he wasted no time in making sure that he was at the top when he came back. Marco Damico opened to 425,000 in the cutoff and Guimond announced all in from the big blind. Damico quickly called off his stack of around 2,750,000 and the cards were tabled.

Marco Damico: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Florian Guimond: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

Damico was looking to spike a two-outer but the flop of {k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} provided no help. The {q-Clubs} on the turn and the {9-Hearts} on the river were also bricks which led to Guimond scooping a huge pot.

Kramer Eliminates Iduwe

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

The action was picked up as Meyenehi Iduwe had re-raised Jonathan Kramer and was all-in for his last 650,000 chips and Kramer called. The cards were turned face up and Iduwe held {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} versus the {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} of Kramer.

The dealer ran out the board of {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Spades}{9-Spades} and Kramer took it down with his ace-high, which eliminated Iduwe in the process.

Steinman Can't Survive

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Ian steinman
Ian steinman

Ian Steinman had a little under 2,000,000 chips and shoved all in from under the gun. Jorge Hou called from the button and the blinds folded.

Ian Steinman: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
Jorge Hou: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The flop of {k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades} was of no help to Steinman. While the {q-Clubs} on the turn gave Hou a set of queens, Steinman's outs actually increased. Unfortunately for him, the {7-Clubs} on the river could not keep him alive as he exited in 33rd place.
