Back-to-Back Doubles on "Funniest Table"

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Big stack Pierre Calamusa shoved a tower of 5,000 chips into the middle, having everyone at the table covered. Basel Chaura made the call with {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} and was up against {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}.

Chaura won the coin flip when the board ran out {3-Spades}{7-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades} and doubled.

On the next hand, Huluka Abebe was all in with {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} against Vanessa Kade's {q-}{j-} and stayed ahead to double to around 60,000.

"Assign this table the funniest table. Everyone is having fun," a tablemate said.

Perrone Doubles Through Andersen

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Michael Perrone
Michael Perrone

Michael Perrone went all in on the button for 40,000 and Tom Andersen looked him up in the big blind.

Michael Perrone:{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Tom Andersen: {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

The flop brought only backdoors to go with the overcards on a {2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} but the turn of {9-Hearts} helped Perrone a great deal with the open ender to go with the overcards.

The river came a {j-Diamonds} and Perrone hit one of his necessary outs to stay alive and double in the tournament.

Syssau Eliminated One Shy of Bubble in Bad Beat

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

With the tournament in hand-for-hand play, Sebastien Syssau moved all-in with {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} for 37,000 and was called by the {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} of Ray Geary, who had him barely covered.

The flop of {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{q-Spades} brought Geary some good fortune, and he held Syssau off when the turn was the {a-Hearts} and river the {a-Clubs}. Syssau was eliminated in 248th place, one spot shy of the bubble.

Bouldin Cracks Aces

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Action was picked after all preflop action, where James Bouldin had two stacks at risk of elimination.

Early position: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Big blind: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
James Bouldin: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The flop came out {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Bouldin clapped for his set. The turn of {j-Clubs} created a slight sweat for the potential straight outs of the ace-king, but the river {5-Diamonds} sealed both players fates as Bouldin collected both bounties as well as a quick ascension to one of the biggest stacks in the room.

Britton Purvis
Britton Purvis

Action picked up on the river with the board reading {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{3-Spades} and the early position player checked it over to Britton Purvis, who fired out a bet of 15,000 into a pot of around 40,000. His opponent made the call and then instantly mucked when he saw Purvis's {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Purvis is now up among the chip leaders as the money bubble is fast approaching.
