Kornuth Ships Into the Nuts

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Igor Kurganov opened to 10,000 on the button and Chance Kornuth continued with his three-betting strategy, making it 28,000 from the small blind. Kurganov called to see the flop come {10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}.

Kornuth led out for 19,000 and Kurganov called as the {a-Hearts} landed on the turn. Kornuth fired another 37,000 into the middle but still couldn't push Kurganov off of his hand.

The {9-Diamonds} completed the board and Kornuth moved all in, which was met by a snap-call by Kurganov. Kornuth's hand was tabled and he displayed {k-Spades}{9-Hearts}, but Kurganov rivered the nuts with {8-Spades}{7-Spades}.

Tollerene Puts Himself in a Tight Spot

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Jason Koon raised to 6,000 from the cutoff and was called by Nick Petrangelo on the button, Ben Tollerene in the small blind, and Mike Watson in the big blind. The flop came {k-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts} and the action was checked around to the {3-Spades} on the turn.

Tollerene led out for 8,000 and Watson folded, while Koon called and Petrangelo folded. The {10-Hearts} on the river paired the board and Tollerene made a large overbet of 47,000. Koon announced all in and Tollerene only had around 40,000 remaining. After using a couple of his time banks, Tollerene eventually mucked his hand and will live to fight another day.

Sontheimer Eliminates Monosson

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Steffen Sontheimer
Steffen Sontheimer

Daniel Monosson shoved from early position for 29,500 and action folded around to Steffen Sontheimer in the big blind. He peeked at his hole cards one at a time and called.

Monosson: {K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Sontheimer: {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

Sontheimer had the preflop advantage with the better king and Monosson needed help from the deck to double up. He picked up a flush draw on the {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop but got no help from the {8-Hearts} turn or {Q-Spades} river, so Sontheimer took the pot to send Monosson to the rail.

Hunichen Stacks Schillhabel

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Stefan Schillhabel moved all-in from under the gun for 13,500, Chris Hunichen called from the cutoff, and Sylvain Loosli called from the button.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Hunichen bet 16,000 into the side pot. Loosli called.

The turn brought the {7-Hearts} and Hunichen shoved for 165,000. Loosli folded and the two live players tabled their hands.

Hunichen: {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Schillhabel: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

Hunichen had the advantage with a pair of sixes and the nut-flush draw. He made the nut flush on the {J-Hearts} river to take the pot and eliminate Schillhabel.

Instant Double Up for Sontheimer

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Steffen Sontheimer just took a seat at his new table after using his one re-entry and made use of his new 100,000 starting stack. Christopher Kruk opened to 6,000 from early position and was called by Kevin Hobbs in middle position and Steffen Sontheimer in the small blind.

The flop fell {10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and the action checked around to Hobbs who bet 15,000. Sontheimer put together a raise to 47,000 which forced Kruk out of the hand. Hobbs quickly pushed all in and Sontheimer called just as fast, being the player at risk.

Sontheimer tabled {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} while Hobbs was out-kicked with {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. The {5-Hearts} on the turn and the {j-Spades} on the river were no help to Kruk as Sontheimer quickly doubled up.

Badziakouski Calls Khoroshenin Correctly

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

There were 23,000 chips already in the pot and the board read {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} when we got to the table. Mikita Badziakouski checked from the small blind and Oleksii Khoroshenin bet 9,000 from the big blind. Badziakouski called.

The turn brought the {Q-Hearts} and both players checked.

The {4-Diamonds} fell on the river and Badziakouski checked. Khoroshenin bet 26,500 and Badziakouski went into the tank. He used one time bank token before he called and tabled {K-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a rivered pair of fours. It was good enough to win the pot, as Khoroshenin held {10-}{2-}.
