Time for a Break

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The first four levels are in the books and the field has been sent on a 20-minute break. The tournament clock currently shows 44 total entries with 35 players remaining.

Koon Flops a Set to Double Up

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

On a flop reading {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs}, the action was checked to Jason Koon on the button who bet 4,500. Nick Petrangelo called from the small blind and Timothy Adams check-raised to 20,500 from the cutoff. Koon called and Petrangelo got out of the way.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs} and Adams shoved all in. Koon couldn't get his last 44,500 chips in the middle fast enough and the cards were on their backs. Adams showed {a-Spades}{5-Spades} for a flush draw and Koon flopped a set with {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}. The {6-Diamonds} on the river bricked off and Koon doubled through Adams after flopping a set.

Engel and Dvoress Chop to Stack Stamm

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Igor Yaroshevskyy raised to 5,000 from under the gun, Ari Engel called from the cutoff, and Daniel Dvoress three-bet to 27,500 from the small blind. David Stamm four-bet shoved from the big blind for 43,000, and after some consideration, Yaroshevskyy folded. Engel five-bet to 82,000, Dvoress six-bet shoved, and Engel called with a slightly shorter stack.

Engel: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Dvoress: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Stamm: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

Stamm was racing for his tournament life and needed to improve in order to win. He took the lead on the {K-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} flop, leaving Engel and Dvoress in rough shape. They picked up a gutshot to a chop on the {10-Clubs} turn, and before the dealer revealed the river, Daniel Negreanu, who was also at the table, said to Stamm, "Oh! You lost to a straight!" As if on cue, the {J-Clubs} fell on the river, so Dvoress and Engel split the pot to eliminate Stamm.

Two New Faces and a Few Re-Entries

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Chris Hunichen's Main Event run has come to an end but that didn't stop him from jumping right back into the action, now seated in Daniel Negreanu's former seat. The defending champion Bryn Kenney has also just registered.

Negreanu has reloaded and has a new seat with a fresh stack joining Stephen Chidwick and Benjamin Pollak as the lastest players to re-enter.

Adams on a Rollercoaster Ride

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Timothy Adams was one of the first players to surpass 200,000 chips but then quickly found himself back to a starting stack. The action folded around to Benjamin Pollak on the button who raised to 4,000. Timothy Adams slid forward a stack of around 80,000 chips and Pollak instantly called.

It took a moment for the cards to be tabled but when they were, it was Pollak with the {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and Adams showed {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. The flop came {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Pollak was still in the lead with his pocket aces. The {6-Diamonds} on the turn gave Adams some straight outs and the {3-Diamonds} on the river completed it for him. Pollak was sent to the registration desk to use his one re-entry.

One Up, One In, One Out

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel was just seen exiting the tournament area and the chair he previously occupied doesn't have any chips in front of it. It appears as though Igor Yaroshevskyy was the beneficiary.

Mustapha Kanit has just entered and has taken a seat at the table.

Seidel Jams the River

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Erik Seidel raised to 3,500 from the cutoff and was called by Ryan Riess on the button and Timothy Adams in the big blind. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades} and the action checked to Riess who bet 4,500. Both Adams and Seidel called to see the {9-Diamonds} hit the turn.

Adams checked again and Seidel took the lead with a bet of 12,000. Riess quickly folded and Adams stuck around for the {q-Hearts} on the river. Adams checked one more time and Seidel pushed all in for 20,500. As the time clock was expiring for Adams, he threw his cards away and Seidel raked in the pot.

Meanwhile, Jason Koon has just entered and taken his seat at the table to the left of Adams. Here is how the rest of the table stacks up.
