Tollerene Done, Few Back in it

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

The second bullet for Ben Tollerene didn't fare any better than his first and he has been eliminated for the second time. Christopher Kruk, Sam Greenwood, and Oleksii Khoroshenin were also eliminated recently but are back in after firing their second bullet.

Petrangelo Sends His Chips to Adams

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

After double up Timothy Adams the hand before, Nick Petrangelo pushed all in for 60,000 from under the gun. Adams called on the button and the cards were tabled.

Timothy Adams: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Nick Petrangelo: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}

Petrangelo found himself in a dominated position and the flop of {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} was not of any help. The {k-Spades} on the turn gave Adams a straight and Petrangelo was drawing dead to the {9-Spades} on the river.

Negreanu Left Short by Kenney; Busts Soon After

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

An under-the-gun open by Brynn Kenney saw Daniel Negreanu defend his big blind. The flop fanned out {3-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Negreanu check-raised a bet of 12,000 from Kenney to 32,000 and Kenney called.

When the {5-Spades} fell on the turn, Negreanu checked again and called a bet of 26,000 from Kenney. The {q-Diamonds} completed the board and Negreanu check-folded when Kenney bet 75,000.

Negreanu was left with about 10 big blinds and busted a few moments later. That spells the end of Negreanu's day as he was on his second bullet.

Lawrence Greenberg has just come into the room and sat down with his first bullet.

Haxton vs. Kurganov

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

There were about 115,000 chips already in the middle and the board read {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} when we got to the table. Igor Kurganov checked from the small blind and Isaac Haxton checked back on the button.

Both players checked the {6-Clubs} river as well and Kurganov quickly tabled {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} for top set. Haxton mucked and Kurganov took the pot.

"How did you play such a small pot with such a big hand?" asked Mikita Badziakouski from across the table.

Shak Stacks Bonomo

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Action folded around to Justin Bonomo in the cutoff and he jammed for what looked like about 35,000. Dan Shak called from the big blind with a significantly larger stack.

Bonomo: {8-Spades}{6-Spades}
Shak: {A-Spades}{3-Spades}

Shak had the preflop advantage and Bonomo needed help from the deck to survive. The board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} which paired Shak's three and missed Bonomo entirely, so Shak took the pot to end Bonomo's tournament.

Dvoress Doesn't Believe

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Daniel Dvoress raised it up to 10,000 on the button and Pablo Cabrera defended his big blind. The flop came {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Cabrera check-called a bet of 8,500 from Dvoress.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and both players tapped the table to see the {4-Spades} on the river. Cabrera led out for 11,500 and Dvoress made the call. "Nice call," Cabrera said as he turned over {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for just jack-high. Dvoress flipped up his {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} to take down the pot.

Khoroshenin Doubles Through Bonomo

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The board read {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades} when we got to the table and Justin Bonomo had checked from the big blind. Oleksii Khoroshenin bet 25,000 from under the gun, Kevin Hobbs called from the button, and Bonomo check-raised all-in. Khoroshenin called to put himself at risk and Hobbs folded.

Khoroshenin: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Bonomo: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

Bonomo had flopped top pair, top kicker but found himself trailing Khoroshenin's queens. The {8-Clubs} turn and {9-Spades} river changed nothing, so Khoroshenin took the pot to double through Bonomo.

An All-Canadian Battle

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Two of Canada's top poker minds tangled in a recent pot during a blind versus blind battle.

Action folded around to Mike Watson in the small blind and he limped, seeing a raise from Timothy Adams to 16,000 out of the big blind. Watson called and the dealer issued a {10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{j-Hearts} flop. Watson check-called a bet of 9,000 but check-folded on the turn when Adams fired a second barrel worth 22,000.

Koon Eliminates Kruk

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Christopher Kruk shoved from the hijack for what looked like about 40,000, Steve O'Dwyer called from the button, and Jason Koon jammed from the small blind. O'Dwyer folded and the two live players tabled their hands.

Koon: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Kruk: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Koon had the preflop edge and Kruk needed to improve in order to double up. He took the lead on the {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop, but Koon pulled ahead again on the {K-Spades} turn. The {Q-Hearts} river was no help to either player, so Koon took the pot to send Kruk to the rail.
