A Controversial Exit

I just spoke to Vicky, and she said she was happy with the way that she went out because it was the most "preposterous situation possible," which is much better than going out by playing badly.

The player under the gun raised, but the big blind had not been dealt any cards. It was folded to Vicky, who reraised on the button thinking she was going for a blind steal, but she was in fact forced to reraise the under the gun player.

Some players complained that the hand should have been voided, but too much action had taken place and Vicky got committed to a hand she would have otherwise gotten away from.

Moneymaker Doubles Up Tann

Willie Tann raises preflop and Chris Moneymaker and one other opponent calls. Flop comes:

{5-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

Tann bets and both players call.

Turn:

{4-Hearts}

Tann moves all in, and Moneymaker reluctantly calls, Opponent number two dwells up and eventually folds. Tann asks Moneymaker if he has the hearts. Moneymaker says "no" and flips over:

{Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

To Tann's

{A-Clubs}{K-Spades}

No queen, and the Tann man is back in the game on 14,000.

"I'm 90 Percent Sure I Have the Best Hand..."

...but then Mark Vos decided 90 percent wasn't sure enough for him to call a river bet from Ulliott.

On a {7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop, Mark Vos bet out 2,000 and Ulliott immediately raised to 6,000. Vos called.

Turn was the {5-Diamonds} and both players checked.

River was the {K-Hearts}. Vos checked and Ulliott bet 7,000, leaving himself with just over 4,000 in chips.

After a long speech Vos eventually folded, and The Devilfish showed {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for just ace-high.

Moneymaker in Trouble

Chris Moneymaker is riffling mostly air at the moment, as his chips continue to leak away.

Opponent raises 1,500, Moneymaker reraises to 4,000, and the opponent moves in. Moneymaker dwells up and eventually folds. His opponent shows {10-Hearts}{J-Hearts}.

Moneymaker is clearly frustrated and tells the table he folded {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

He is now sitting on 7,000 in chips and is feeling the pinch with the blinds about to go up.

Kimber Doubled Up by a Now-Struggling Lodden

Jeff Kimber
Jeff Kimber
Jeff Kimber and Johnny Lodden get involved in a blind-on-blind confrontation. Flop comes:

{10-Hearts}{K-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Lodden bets, Kimber calls.

Turn: {7-Spades}

Lodden bets and Kimber again calls.

River: {5-Spades}

Lodden checks and Kimber moves all in. Lodden very reluctantly calls and shows:

{K-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Kimber shows the nut straight:

{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

Lodden is now on 11,000 and feeling the pinch.
