Marino Serenelli Eliminated in 5th Place (127,680)

Busted in 5th
Busted in 5th
It folded around to Serenelli in the small blind, who made it 85,000. Big blind Fry was having none of it, and reraised to 135,000. Call.

Flop: {7-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {6-Spades}

Serenelli checked, allowing Fry to bet 90,000. Back on Serenelli, and he called.

Turn: {2-Diamonds}

Serenelli checked, and Fry shoved. Without any hesitation, call. What premium holdings could they have?

Serenelli: a surprising {5-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}
Fry: an equally surprising {J-Hearts} {6-Diamonds}

River: {7-Diamonds}

Fry's six for two pair is good, and we lose our last Italian. Ciao, Signor Serenelli...

A Smoking Pot for Hrisca

Hrisca minimum-raised (his favourite move, it seems) from the cutoff, and Albert Iversen in the small blind reraised him to 205,000. Call.

Flop: {6-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {5-Diamonds}

Iversen bet out 175,000, and Hrisca flat-called. They proceeded to a turn.

Turn: {K-Hearts}

Now Iversen checked, and Hrisca, done with minimum-betting, bet 200,000. Iversen went into the tank for some time, before passing. Hrisca showed a single enigmatic jack as he raked in the sizable pot.

Fry Me to the Moon

Hrisca made it 87,000 under the gun and it folded around to Fry on the big blind, who flat called; they proceeded to a {4-Spades} {4-Clubs} {J-Clubs} flop, and both checked it. Come the {2-Hearts} turn, Fry bet out a minimum 30,000 and Hrisca swiftly called, but folded to a twice-the-minimum 60,000 bet from Fry on the {6-Clubs} river.

Fry: 1.37 million, catching up slowly with Hrisca's current 1.92 million.

Fry Up

Martin Jacobson raised to 88,000 under the gun, swiftly called by Albert Iversen to his left. Serenelli passed the button, but Will Fry announce all in from the small blind for 503,000. Hrisca in the big blind got out of everyone's way, and Jacobson announced call, with Iversen deciding that it wasn't worth it behind.

Fry: {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}
Jacobson: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}

Board: {Q-Spades} {9-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {7-Clubs}

Thus Fry makes a full house to more than double up to over 1.1 million, while Jacobson sinks to around 800,000.

Players Are Back from a Short Break

There are five players remaining. Three bustouts in the first 24 hands. At this rate of rapid eliminations, we'll all be feasting on bowls of goulash within a couple of hours.

Romanian Ciprian Hrisca is the first player to pass the 2 million chip mark. He's out in front with Martin Jacobson, the young Swede not far behind.

Gino Alacqua Eliminated in 6th Place (100,016)

Ciprian Hrisca raised to 63,000 under the gun -- and to his left, Gino Alacqua reraised all in for 276,000. Most unexpectedly, Albert Iversen flat-called, and so did Ciprian. Alacqua covered his face with his hands, and the other two proceeded to a {J-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {10-Hearts} flop.

Ciprian checked to Iversen, who made it 240,000. Call.

Turn: {J-Spades} -- check, check

River: {9-Hearts} -- again, check, check.

The three proceeded to showdown.

Iversen: {A-Spades} {A-Hearts}
Alacqua: {A-Diamonds} {10-Spades}
Hrisca: {A-?} {Q-?}

Thus Alacqua is out, and Hrisca makes a straight to take down an astounding 1.3 million pot for the chip lead.
