Wilkie Gets a Double

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

There was around 59,000 in the pot on a board of {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and Steve Wilkie had the all in button and a counted-out stack of 27,600 in front of him from the small blind. Action was on Ruth Graham, who was on the button.

Graham went into the tank for close to two minutes, asking to confirm the amount somewhere in that time. Eventually, she put out chips to call.

Wilkie sheepishly announced a weak flush. Graham stayed stoic.

Wilkie tabled {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

Graham looked back at her cards with body language displaying a desire to muck. Knowing all cards must be turned up at showdown, she tabled {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for a pair of aces, resulting in Wilkie’s flush being good en route to a full double.

At the same time on Table 6, Austin Peck opened to 4,300 from the cutoff and Matt Livingston three-bet to 11,000 from the small blind. Peck four-bet all in for around 35,000 and Livingston called.

Graham Eliminates Fuller

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Thomas Fuller
Thomas Fuller

Thomas Fuller's seat was recently vacated after he was eliminated from the tournament. According to tablemate Ben Keeline, Ruth Graham raised to 5,500 from the cutoff and Thomas Fuller three-bet all in from the big blind. Graham asked for a count, which was totaled to be 35,500, and made the call.

Thomas Fuller: {k-}{q-}
Ruth Graham: {a-}{q-}

Graham was in dominating shape to send Fuller to the rail as the flop came {q-}{9-}{5-}, giving Fuller backdoor straight outs. That was as close as he would get, however, as the turn and river ran blank and Fuller was eliminated from the tournament.
