Opila Doubles Through Gonzales

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Bobby Opila saw action folded to hi in the hijack and he shoved all in for 76,500. Danny Gonzales was in the big blind and called after everybody in between the two players got out of their way.

Bobby Opila: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Danny Gonzales: {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

Gonzales had called to put Opila at risk but his deuces were significantly behind Opila's eights. Things remained that way as the board ran out {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and Opila earned the double at Gonzales' expense.

Macias Blasts the Flop

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Anthony Martinez was in early position and opened to 10,500. Erik Macias called from middle position and action folded around to Mansour Alipourfard, who called from the big blind. The three players saw a flop of {5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Alipourfard checked. Martinez fired a continuation-bet of 20,000 into the middle, putting action on Macias, who put forward a stack of red T5,000 chips that totaled at least 75,000.

Alipourfard folded and Martinez folded behind, resulting in the pot being sent Macias' way.

Alipourfard Makes Broadway

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Mansour Alipourfard
Mansour Alipourfard

Mansour Alipourfard raised to 12,500 from under the gun and saw action fold around to Jon Cohen, who defended his big blind. The flop came {2-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{k-Clubs} and Cohen check-called a continuation-bet of 16,000 from Alipourfard.

Both players checked the turn {10-Clubs} and the river {2-Clubs}.

Cohen tabled {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for jacks up.

"Straight," Alipourfard said as he showed {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, good for Broadway to take down the pot.

Gonzalez Backs Into Full House

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Mansour Alipourfard saw action fold to him in the cutoff and opened to 12,000. Danny Gonzales was on the button and called. The two went heads up to the flop {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{a-Hearts} and both players checked.

The turn came {k-Diamonds} and Alipourfard checked again. Gonzales put out a bet of 10,000 and received a call.

The river fell {k-Clubs} and Alipourfard checked to Gonzales once more. Gonzales bet 35,000 and Alipourfard thought for around 90 seconds before putting in chips to call.

Gonzales tabled {a-Spades}{8-Spades}.

Aipourard flung his cards towards the muck and they slid across the table past the pile. He then said that his hand could be tabled. It ended up not being tabled, but he said that he had flopped a full house, indicating that he had {j-}{j-} and found it to be second-best at showdown.

Dixon Finds Cooler To Bust

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Rich Dixon
Rich Dixon

Monsour Alipourfard opened to 11,000 and received calls from Rich Dixon on the button, Thomas Heine in the small blind, and Jon Cohen in the big blind.

The four went to a flop of {3-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Alipourfard saw action checked to him. He fired a continuation-bet that was called by Dixon before both Heine and Cohen folded.

The turn came {k-Spades} and Alipourfard continued. Dixon raised and Alipourfard shoved all in. Dixon called.

Monsour Alipourfard: {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Rich Dixon: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Dixon had turned top two pair but found himself up against Alipourfard's flopped set and in need of hitting another king or queen to win the pot. The river came {j-Hearts} and Alipourfard secured the double, leaving Dixon with just 8,500 in chips.

On the following hand, Matt Livingston raised to 9,000 from early position. Dixon called off his last 8,500 from the cutoff and Alipourfard called from the big blind. With 1,000 in the side pot, both players checked to the river on a board of {5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{k-Spades}.
Alipourfard checked again and Livingston put out a bet of 5,000, getting a fold from Alipourfard.

Rich Dixon: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Matt Livingston: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Dixon had flopped top pair, top kicker with the hopes of tripling and finding a little bit of life for the time being. Unfortunately for him, those hopes were dashed when Livingston improved to a pair of kings on the river, sending Dixon home in ninth place.

Just three more eliminations remain until the tournament will reach the money.
