Day 38 of the 2019 World Series of Poker will be another busy day even though there are only two events in action.
The $500 SALUTE TO WARRIORS event resumes with just eight players left. Taylor Carroll holds a commanding chip lead followed by Susan Faber and Dean Yoon.
Meanwhile, the Rio Convention Center will be buzzing with a colossal Day 1c field of the WSOP $10,000 Main Event expected as it is the third and final opening day of the poker event of the year. Last year witnessed 4,571 entrants on the final opening flight and based on the over WSOP turnout so far; this year could be even bigger.

Event #71: $500 SALUTE TO WARRIORS No-Limit Hold'em
This event, which raised money for the United Service Organization (USO) and other military-related charities, took a day off yesterday in honor of American Independence Day.
The action resumes today at noon PDT with blinds at 100,000/200,000 and a big blind ante of 200,000. It will be broadcasted at CBS All Access in the United States, Canada, and Australia, and at PokerGO in the rest of the world starting at 1 p.m. PDT.
Taylor Carroll (13,000,000) enters the action with almost as many chips as his nearest two competitors Susan Faber (8,400,000) and Dean Yoon (6,000,000) combined. Carroll is a veteran himself as he retired from the United States Air Force in 2015 after spending the best part of six years at Barksdale Air Force Base performing maintenance on the B-52H bomber.
Also in the hunt for their first taste of WSOP gold are Chris Canan (5,600,000), Kulwant Singh (3,300,000), Uriah Grossglauser (2,200,000), Jose Annaloro (1,900,000), and Jordan Knackstedt (1,700,000).

Event #71: $500 SALUTE TO WARRIORS No-Limit Hold'em Final Table Payouts
After the elimination of Taehyung Kim in ninth place for $9,486 on July 3, the remaining eight players are each guaranteed a $12,323 payout with the winner going home with their first WSOP gold bracelet and the $121,161 top prize.

Event #73: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em MAIN EVENT - World Championship
The first two opening flights Main Event are in the books with already 3,250 players joining in on the action including 1,915 on yesterday's Day 1b.
This is close to the 3,303 entrants that participating in the first two opening days last year when John Cynn finished on top of a field of 7,874 entrants to win the $8.8 million top prize. Last year was the second largest Main Event with only the 2006 Main Event more significant when Jamie Gold outlasted a field of 8,773 entrants to win the $12 million top prize.
United Kingdom's Adam Owen bagged the chip lead on yesterday's Day 1b with a stack of 351,800 with three-time bracelet winner Asi Moshe (330,200), Gary Blackwood (330,200), Tyler Gaston (329,200), and Allen Kessler (301,800) also bagging over 300,000 in chips. This group sits well behind Day 1a chip leader Bryan Campanello who bagged up 417,500 on Wednesday, July 3.
Today will feature the start of Day 1c at noon PDT with players starting with a monster stack of 60,000 in chips. The action will conclude after five blind levels of two hours each. The final field size won't be known until the start of Day 2c on Sunday with late registration permitted until the beginning of both second days.
