Brodsky Doubles Up On the Extreme Short Stack

Level 29 : Limits 100,000/200,000, 0 ante

Nick Guagenti has been successfully chipping away at Joseph Brodsky, winning a number of pots without showdown.

Before the hand, Brodsky had fallen down to as little as 350,000 chips or less than two big bets. However, as has been the case all tournament, Brodsky found a way to bounce back with just a few chips in front of him.

Brodsky was first to act on the button and raised. Guagenti called.

The flop came A?6?6?, and Guagenti led out, Brodsky raised and was all-in. Guagenti called.

Joseph Brodsky: J?8?All in
Nick Guagenti: 5?4?

Brodsky commented that he was behind before seeing the cards, but it was not the case.
The turn was the 9?, and the river was a Q?, giving both players a flush and doubling up Brodsky.

Brodsky tabled 6?3? for the straight and finally had some chips pushed his way.

Hand 2:

Just a couple hands later they were heads up to a board of 10?3?2? and Brodsky bet, getting a call from Guagenti.

Brodsky slowed down with a check on the K? and Guagenti bet. Brodsky called and the river completed with the 6?. Again, Brodsky check-called a bet from Guagenti.

Guagenti rolled over 10?10? for a flopped set and continued on his heater, winning another small series of pots.

Brosky expressed how grateful he was to be on the big stage, at the final table and Guagenti asked, "You having fun?"

To which Brodsky responded, "I am so happy to be alive, you have no idea."
