Bhend Sets the Trap; Holtz Manoeuvres Wisely

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Mike Holtz
Mike Holtz

PokerNews pocast co-host Mike Holtz opened to 18,000 second to act. Remy Bhend defended his big blind.

The A?K?J? flop checked through to the 8? turn. Bhend bet pot (44,000), and Holtz wasted little time in calling.

The 10? completed the board and Bhend slowed down with a check. Holtz quickly checked back.

Bhend had it all with his K?Q?J?10?, which was good for Broadway. Holtz couldn't match the hand and mucked.

Li and Lowery Above 500K

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Big Stack Pei Li opened to 12,000 from under the gun and the big blind was the only caller.

On the Q?9?8? flop, the big blind check-called for his last 13,000 after Li put in a stack of T-5,000 chips.

Big Blind: A?8?8?2?All in
Pei Li: A?5?4?2?

The 6? turn and 5? river saw Li make a flush along with the nut low. The blind had the same eight-six to retain 25% of the pot.

The pot took Li over the 500,000 threshold, a feat that only appears to be matched by Daniel Lowery, who is encroaching on the 600,000 mark.
