Holzner Finds the Birds

Level 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Daniel Holzner raised to 3,125,000 from under the gun, leaving a single chip behind. Henry Chan shoved all in as the bigger stack from the big blind. The floor was called to the table as Holzner was stalling for the pay jump and eventually he was forced to put his last chip in the middle.

Daniel Holzner: A?A?
Henry Chan: A?8?

The flop came J?10?7? and Chan picked up a straight draw as his only out. The 7? and 3? runout changed nothing and Holzner doubled up through Chan.

Pham and Lewis Play the Same Hand

Level 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Cong Pham open-raised for the second hand in a row, this time for 650,000 from the cutoff. The action folded to Toby Lewis, who defended his big blind.

Lewis then check-called a 700,000 bet from Pham on the 9?2?J? flop before he decided to lead for 1,100,000 on the J? turn. Pham made the call and also called Lewis's 1,800,000 bet on the 7? river.

Lewis tabled K?9? and Pham tabled K?9? for the same hand. The pair chopped up the pot while being complimented on their play by the other players at the table.

Raj Vohra: 6?6?
Anirban Das: A?Q?

The board ran out K?3?A?2?5? and Das flopped a pair of queens to send Vohra to the rail in 36th place for $229,000.

Maurice Hawkins Eliminated in 35th Place ($280,100)

Maurice Hawkins moved all in for 2,350,000 from early position, Joe Ghio reshoved for 10,000,000 in the hijack, and the rest of the table got out of the way.

Maurice Hawkins: A?J?
Joe Ghio: A?A?

"I have spades. Spades work," Hawkins said, already standing up with his backpack around his shoulders, heading to the 9?9?8? flop.

"That's not going to do it," he added. "I don't think i can win. Oh, yes I can, ten-seven."

"Nine-nine for a chop," a tablemate offered.

"Nah, nah, nah. It's easier to get ten-seven," Hawkins replied as the 8? fell on the turn, leaving him drawing dead.

"That's not going to do it. Why can't you have ace-king, my guy?" Hawkins asked Ghio after hitting the J? on the river that wasn't enough for the WSOP Circuit ring king, who instead hit the rail in 35th place.

Level 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Joshua Payne opened to 600,000 from early position and Cong Pham called in middle position.

Payne continued for 650,000 on the flop of 7?J?K? and Pham called. Payne sized up to 1,900,000 on the 6? turn and Pham again called.

Payne checked on the J? river and Pham checked back. Payne announced two pair and showed 4?4?. Pham held his cards a bit longer and shot them into the muck.

"I put you on queen-ten," Payne said.

"Ace-queen of clubs," replied Pham after bricking his two draws.

Schneider Wins with Eight-High

Level 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Harsheel Kothari three-bet to 1,400,000 out of the blinds and Jack O'Neill forfeited his min-raise to 600,000.

Soon after that, Kothari was tempted to shove the button but sigh-folded, as Eric Schneider limped the small blind and Anirban Das checked from the big blind.

Schneider bet the 10?3?2? flop for 300,000 and Das called. They checked the 3? turn and 7? river as Schneider shook his head, exposing the 8?6? only. Das grinned and said "Oh no," while checking his cards again before he mucked.

Jose Aguilera
Jose Aguilera

Jose Aguilera raised to 650,000 from the cutoff before Daniel Weinman three-bet to 2,000,000 on the button. The blinds both folded, and Aguilera called.

The flop came 2?7?8? and Aguilera checked to Weinman, who continued for 2,500,000. Aguilera called and both players checked the 9? turn.

Aguilera led out for 5,600,000 on the 6? river and Weinman spent nearly two minutes in the tank before putting in a call. Aguilera had 5x5x and Weinman mucked as Aguilera's rivered straight gave him the massive pot.

Vampan Catches Payne's Bluff to Chip Up

Level 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Everyone folded to Daniel Vampan in the small blind and he opted to limp in. Joshua Payne was sitting in the big blind and checked. The flop fanned out 9?9?5? and Vampan led for 300,000, which got met with a call by Payne.

On the 5? turn, it was Payne who took the betting lead for 750,000 after Vampan checked. Vampan made the call. He then snap-called a 1,800,000 bet from Payne on the 7? river.

"You win," Payne declared. He could only show J?2? for jack-high, while Vampan turned a full house with his 5?2? and raked in the chips.
