Geilich Goes for a Big Call

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Ludovic Geilich
Ludovic Geilich

Ludovic Geilich was in the hijack and bet 5,500 into a pot of 15,500. The flop was already dealt out and read 9?4?2?. Stanislav Angelov sat in the cutoff and made the call.

The 2? turn slowed down Geilich as he now checked to his opponent. Angelov took the opportunity to bet 12,000 chips and Geilich followed with a call.

The 3? river completed the board and saw Geilich go for another check. Angelov then fired in a big bet of 24,500 and Geilich thought it over for a while before tossing in a green T-25,000 chip for a call.

Angelov could only table K?J? for king-high, and Geilich saw that he made a good call with K?9? for a flopped top pair. He raked in the pot and went over the 200,000 mark.

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Ethan Yau
Ethan Yau

Ethan 'Rampage' Yau's seat was seen empty and the table was happy to relay the hand:

Salah Nimer raised in early position and Yau defended the big blind.

When the flop came 7x3x2x, Yau check-called a bet from Nimer.

The 4x hit the turn and Yau put in a check-raise after Nimer bet, and Nimer called.

The 2x completed the board on the river and Yau led out for 45,000. Nimer moved all-in for the rest of Yau's stack and Yau sigh called it off. Nimer tabled 4x4x for a full house and Yau flashed 2x before mucking his other card.

Moorman Flops The Nuts

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Chris Moorman
Chris Moorman

A player in middle position opened to 2,100 and Minh Nguyen called next to act. The cutoff called as well and Chris Moorman put in a three-bet to 8,700 on the button. All three players came along and the dealer fanned out a flop of 7?5?4?.

The initial raiser checked to Nguyen who tossed out a small bet of 3,500 and only the cutoff and Moorman called. On the 5? turn the action checked through to the 4? river.

Nguyen and the cutoff checked to Moorman who took some time before betting 40,000, leaving only 500 behind. Nguyen quickly folded and the cutoff snap-called for their last 35,000.

Moorman rolled over 8?6? for the flopped nut-straight and his opponent tabled 8?8? for the over pair as they made their way to the exit.

Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey and Istvan Birizdo had arrived on the river in a pot of 14,000 chips. The completed board read 5?8?4?9?2? and Ivey checked out of the big blind.

Birizdo was in early position and put out a small overbet of 14,000. This led Ivey to think about the situation for several minutes. Eventually, he put in calling chips. Birizdo showed 10?10? and his overpair was good for the win as Ivey slid his cards face down towards the dealer.

Hunichen Faces Tough River Decision

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Chris Hunichen
Chris Hunichen

Chris Hunichen was in a heads up pot against Kory Kilpatrick. The board read 8?6?K?Q? and there were 11,000 chips to be fought over. Hunichen checked from the big blind before Kilpatrick bet out 6,700 chips. Hunichen made the call and the 10? river graced the felt.

Hunichen checked again and Kilpatrick went all-in for his last 30,000 chips. Hunichen tanked for a few minutes, thinking out loud in the process.

"Did you get there on the river?" Hunichen asked. "I have a good hand," he continued. Eventually, he put in the call and Kilpatrick showed down K?K? for top set.

"Oh, you already had it," Hunichen concluded, as he showed his Q?8? for two pair.

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Tom Dwan
Tom Dwan

A player in the cutoff raised to 2,600 before the flop and Tom Dwan called on the button, as did big blind Owen Dodd.

The flop came 4?2?5? and action checked to Dwan, who fired out 4,500. Only Dodd called as he and Dwan went heads-up to the 9? turn.

Dodd checked again and Dwan tossed in 25,000, enough to put Dodd all in. Dodd gave it some thought before preserving his last chips for another hand.

"It was close," he told Dwan.

Newhouse Still Has Hopes of Another Deep Run

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Daniel Custodio, Mark Newhouse, and Jesse Rosen went three-ways to a flop of 3?4?5?. With around 4,300 chips in the middle, Custodio led out from the big blind for 1,500. Newhouse raised to 5,000 from under the gun before Rosen three-bet to 12,200 from the hijack.

Custodio quickly got out of the way, but Newhouse committed his entire stack of 39,000. Rosen snap called and a showdown was had.

Mark Newhouse: A?10?
Jesse Rosen: 5?5?

Newhouse had a combo draw to the nut flush and a wheel, while Rosen was sitting on top set. The K? turn saw Newhouse hit his flush, and the board remained free of pairs when the 8? river completed the hand.

Newhouse doubled up in his efforts to finally better his back-to-back ninth-place finishes in 2013 and 2014.

Four players went to the flop on a board 7?10?5? and all checked to the 10? turn.

Punnat Punsri bet 3,200 from early position and only Brittney Stout called in the cutoff.

The river came the K? and Punsri fired out another 18,000. Stout cut the chips to call out of her massive stack and tanked for a moment before committing them to the pot.

Punsri quickly mucked his QxJx for a bluff, while Stout showed 7?4? as she took the pot.

James Hartigan

James Hartigan was battling his namesake James Lim in a pot worth around 12,500 chips. The players had already arrived on the turn on a board of A?9?8?5? and Lim bet out another 4,500. Hartigan made the call and the 2? river was dealt.

On a table with Chris Hunichen and Jesse Lonis, Fedor Holz also sat down after late registering earlier today.
