Ishida Ends Bleznick's Main Event

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Jared Bleznick raised to 1,500 from the cutoff and was called by the player in the small blind. Yuri Ishida then squeezed to 9,000 from the big blind and Bleznick shoved for around 30,000 total. The small blind folded, but Ishida called to put Bleznick at risk.

Jared Bleznick: A?Q?
Yuri Ishida: A?K?

Ishida had Bleznick dominated, and the J?8?3?7?4? runout was of no help to Bleznick — ending his Main Event run late in Day 1a.

Adam Can't Get There as He Hits the Rail

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Alfie Adam was seen all in for his last 32,200 against Colin Mchugh and both hands were face up.

Alfie Adam: 7?5?
Colin Mchugh: A?J?

Adam flopped an open-ended straight draw, while McHugh flopped the nut flush draw. The Q? turn and 10? river were no help for either player, which meant Mchugh's ace-high sent Adam to rail late in Day 1.

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

John Dolan opened to 1,400 in middle position and Sergi Reixach three-bet to 4,300 on the button. Dolan called and they went heads-up to a flop of Q?10?2?.

Both players checked through to the 7? on the turn and the 7? on the river. Dolan checked for the third time and Reixach finally made a small bet of 2,500. Dolan instantly mucked his cards and Reixach added to his stack.

Big Stacks Wage War Late on Day 1a

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Yehuda Dayan
Yehuda Dayan

There was a four-way pot on a table with many chips. Gianna Avdic McIntire played more than 200,000 when she bet out on 9?7?3? for 2,500 chips from the small blind. Yehuda Dayan, the chip leader in the silver section of the Horseshoe Event Center, was the only caller in the cutoff.

"Be careful, Gianna," Dayan warned Avdic McIntire when the J? turn was dealt. She did not heed the warning and bet out another 2,500 before Dayan immediately raised it to 15,000.

"Be careful Gianna," Dayan repeated.

"Hmm," Avdic McIntire hummed. "I'm not sure."

Ultimately, she let her hand go, and Dayan received another pot to catapult him over the 400,000 mark.

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Doug Polk opened to 1,300 from middle position and was called by the player in the small blind.

Alex Livingston limped in from middle position which invited Jaime Kaplan along from the cutoff. Xuan Liu raised to 2,400 on the button and both Livingston and Kaplan called.

The flop came A?A?9? and the action checked to Liu who bet 1,500 which prompted two quick folds from her opponents.

As Liu raked in the pot, the waitress arrived at the table with a tray full of beers.

"Cheers," Livingston said with his beer in the air. "Five out of nine for beer level is not bad," referring to the five players that joined in the festivities.

From under the gun, Francisco Caballo opened to 1,300. Matthieu Rodriguez three-bet to 4,500 from the next seat over. All the other players at the table folded to Caballo, who called.

On K?8?7?, Caballo checked to Rodriguez who continued to 3,200 and was called. The turn 10? came, both players checked.

Nitsche Joins Silver, Gets Gold

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Dominik Nitsche
Dominik Nitsche

Dominik Nitsche has joined the silver tables of the main event for the last hour of Day 1a. A few hands after sitting down, he raised to 3,000 chips from middle position after a limp from an early position player.

James Jewell was next to act in the cutoff and three-bet jammed for 24,200. The limper folded while Nitsche eyed the all in, shrugged, and called.

James Jewell: A?K?
Dominik Nitsche: A?Q?

Nitsche was a big dog, but that changed when the flop came Q?J?2?. His top pair would remain the best hand on the 9?5? runout and Nitsche scored a knockout in the final stages of Day 1a.
