Brown Holds Through Nervy All In

Level 9 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Stephen Brown managed to get it all in ahead on an action flop.

Action was picked up with the flop reading {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades} and both players tabling their hands, with a pot of just over 160,000 in the middle.

Middle position: {7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Stephen Brown: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

The turn came {4-Clubs} and Brown was caught praying under his breath.

"Deuce deuce deuce," said Brown.

A {3-Diamonds} river was good enough for Brown to hold and rake in a large pot.

French Doubles Up with Flopped Trips to Join Chip Lead Picture

Level 9 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

With 13,000 in the pot and heads-up action, the flop came {4-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

Action checked to Dominick French, who led for 5,000 from the cutoff. He received a quick call from his opponent in the cutoff.

The {9-Hearts} turn prompted a bet of 11,500 from the small blind. French raised to 36,500. After a moment or two, his opponent found the call.

The {2-Spades} river completed the board. On this final street, the small blind mustered up a bet of 70,000 . French, with a stack of 91,000, moved all in. The small blind asked for a count and the dealer obliged. After a bit of pondering, he made the call.

The small blind showed {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, while French turned over {8-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. His three-of-a-kind was good enough to take down a quite sizable pot for this stage in the tournament, making his stack amongst the biggest in the field.

Oakes Takes A Pot

Level 9 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

With 88,500 in the middle, the small blind moved all in for 8,000 on a flop of {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, which was called by Kevin Oakes on the button.

Small Blind: {q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Kevin Oakes: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

The runout of {4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} did not help the small blind who darted to the cashier for a re-entry. Oakes dragged in a big pot.

Powell With A Quick KO

Level 9 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

It didn't take Jared Powell long to settle back in. On the first hand after the chip up, he was already getting busy.

Action was raised in late position to 5,500. The hijack took this opportunity to push all in for 38,500. Powell called from the button and action folded round to the late position raiser.

"I'm going to need two minutes", he declared, before going deep into the tank.

It was only 100 seconds (as noted by the table) before he folded though, and the cards were flipped.

"I had Ace-king", the late position raiser declared.

Hijack: {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Powell: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {3-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Powell raked in a large pot.

Salazar Rivers a Flush to Knockout Opponent

Level 8 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Action was picked up after the river, with 17,500 in the pot and a {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} board.

Eric Salazar, in the big blind, fired 25,800 into the middle. His opponent, from early position, moved all in with 90,500 behind. Salazar took a few minutes to think, before finally finding the call.

Salazar turned over {8-Clubs}{10-Clubs} giving him the flush, as his opponent mucked his hand and was sent to the rail.

The hand gave Salazar one of the biggest chip stacks in the room as the players enter their second break.

Lee Takes Big Pot

Level 8 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

The small blind moved all in preflop for 11,600 and was called by Paul Lee, the hijack and button.

The {6-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop allowed Lee to bet 5,000 into the side-pot and was called by the button.

Lee moved all in on the {7-Spades} turn which scared off the button who folded. Lee rolled over {a-Spades}{4-Spades} for the flush, the small blind turned over {q-Spades}{j-Clubs} and was drawing dead before the {7-Diamonds} fell on the river.

Matthew Taylor
Matthew Taylor

The middle position player opened to 2,900. Matthew Taylor was the only caller from the big blind.

A flop of {j-Clubs}{a-Spades}{5-Spades} saw Taylor check and face a continuation bet of 3,000 from his opponent. Taylor called.

The turn was the {q-Diamonds}. Taylor checked again and the middle position aggressor bet out 6,000. Taylor asked to see his stack, before raising to 27,000, covering middle position's remaining chips. After several minutes, the raise was called and cards flipped.

Middle Position: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}
Matthew Taylor: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The {4-Hearts} river was inconsequential and Taylor scooped in another sizeable pot.
