Level 41 : 800,000/1,600,000, 0 ante
Robert Valden

After a slow phase with nothing but walks and raise-and-take-its, there was a flop again when Todd Dreyer raised to 4,800,000 from the small blind and Robert Valden called from the big blind.

On an {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop, Dreyer shoved all in for 8,300,000. Valden thought for minutes and eventually folded in disgust.

Dreyer Triples Up

Level 41 : 800,000/1,600,000, 0 ante

Robert Valden raised to 5,000,000 from the cutoff and button Corey Wright called. Todd Dreyer sat in the big blind and he pushed his last 5,700,000 to the middle. It was no surprise when both Valden and Wright called the extra 700,000.

The flop fell {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Valden checked to Wright. He took over the betting initiative with a bet of 5,500,000 and Valden let go of his hand with the words ''I really hope you have it.''

Dreyer was actually the one in the lead with {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for two pair while Wright was trailing with {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Spades}{j-Clubs}.

The turn was the {2-Clubs} and the river the {5-Clubs} and Dreyer tripled up.

Wright Spikes River to Stay Alive

Level 41 : 800,000/1,600,000, 0 ante

Corey Wright

Start-of-the-day chip leader Corey Wright was down to 9,500,000 and raised it up first to act. Robert Valden reraised from the big blind to put Wright at risk and the latter got it in.

Corey Wright: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Robert Valden: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

The {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop and {a-Clubs} turn kept Valden way ahead, leaving only the queens, jacks, and eights as outs. The river was one of them, the {j-Hearts}, and he celebrated the double-up.

"Gutshot Corey strikes again!" his friends joked from the rail.

Another Double for Valden

Level 40 : 600,000/1,200,000, 0 ante

Mihai Niste raised to 3,600,000 in middle position and Robert Valden called on the button. On the {4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop, Niste checked, Valden shoved all in for 8,200,000, and Miste called him off.

Robert Valden: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{j-Spades}{6-Clubs}
Mihai Niste: {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}

"Yes!" an exuberant Valden yelled while he jumped out of his seat. He had Niste nearly drawing dead on the flop and stacked the chips after the {3-Hearts} turn and {2-Hearts} river.
