Kessler Catches Up

Level 28 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

Jared Hamby told us about a hand that recently transpired at his table in the following manner:

Action folded around to Allen Kessler and he shoved from the button for about 345,000. Martin Finger called from the big blind to put Kessler at risk and the two players tabled their hands.

Allen Kessler: {K-Spades}{7-Spades}
Martin Finger: {A-}{4-}

Finger had the lead and Kessler needed help from the deck to survive. The board ran out {J-}{10-}{8-}{7-}{J-} to pair Kessler's seven and he took the pot to double up.

Hedley Busts One

Level 28 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Andrew Hedley raised to 125,000 in the hijack and called when the player in the small blind shoved for about 750,000 or so. Hedley turned up a dominating {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} as his opponent showed {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}. Hedley's big slick prevailed on the {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{10-Hearts} board and his stack got catapulted to 1.8 million.

Gomez Felted by Simmons

Level 28 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Martin Jacobson made it 110,000 in the hijack and Sampson Simmons reraised all in for about 600,000. Javier Gomez called all in from the big blind for just 155,000 and Jacobson threw his cards away.

Gomez: {Q-Spades}{8-Spades}
Simmons: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Gomez found no help on the board of {3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{A-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Simmons claimed his chips.

Turner Spikes the River

Level 28 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Andrew Brokos raised to 100,000 from middle position, Joshua Turner three-bet from the cutoff to 225,000, and Brokos called.

The flop came {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Brokos checked. Turner shoved for about 500,000 and Brokos quickly called to put him at risk.

"That's a good flop for me," said Brokos as the two players tabled their hands.

Andrew Brokos: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Joshua Turner: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}

Turner saw the bad news that his aces had been cracked and he was drawing to two outs to survive. The {Q-Diamonds} on the turn changed nothing but the {A-Diamonds} showed up on the river to give Turner three aces for the double-up.
