Le Shoves on Hanowski

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Nam Le raised it up to 38,000, and Martin Hanowski was the lone caller from the small blind. The dealer fanned out a flop of {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{7-Spades}, and Hanowski checked to Le, who fired out 35,000. Hanowski made the call, and when the {5-Diamonds} hit the turn, he fired out 58,000. It only took Le about 15 seconds to announce all in, and Hanowski made a quick and rather frustrated fold.

After that pot, Le is back up to 385,000, while Hanowski dropped to 430,000.

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Chad Bradbury
Chad Bradbury

Chad Bradbury moved all in for his final 180,000 from under the gun and he almost made it through but Pedro Rios made the call from the big blind.

Bradbury: {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Rios: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The board did not provide any help to Bradbury as it came {3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts} giving the pot to Rios and eliminating Bradbury in 15th place.

Jason Mercier Eliminated in 16th Place ($21,773)

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

We have just seen what was not only one of the sickest hands of the WSOP so far, but arguably of the whole year in poker, as Jason Mercier was just eliminated in a ginormous pot.

Mercier opened the action with a raise to 35,000, and Michael Rocco made it 105,000 right behind him. It folded back to Mercier, and he tossed the call in. The two saw a flop of {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}, and Mercier checked to Rocco, who bet out 129,000. Mercier started to shuffle some chips and tanked for about 30 seconds before putting out a check raise to 260,000. Rocco only thought for a few moments before calling, and the turn was the {7-Hearts}.

Mercier thought it over for a bit before checking again, and Rocco only took a few moments to move all in. Mercier insta snap called him, and we had a pot for 20% of the chips in play with 16 players left.

Mercier: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Rocco: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}

Mercier had a full house, nines full of sevens, while Rocco was left with just the overpair of aces. In a flash, the dealer brought down the {a-Diamonds} on the river, giving Rocco a better full house and causing the whole table to audibly groan. Mercier head sulked for just a couple of seconds before he gathered his things, and wished everyone luck. The whole table was still in shock as Mercier's mountain of chips were shipped over to Rocco, who now has a commanding chip lead of 1.95 million.

Rocco Doubles Through Hanowski

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Michael Rocco and Martin Hanowski have been tangling all day with each trying to out maneuver the other. The action on this hand started when Jason Mercier raised to 32,000 from the button. Rocco made the call and Hanowski raised to 75,000. Mercier folded and after some thought Rocco moved all in. Hanowski seemed tormented by this move and ended up making the call.

Rocco: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Hanowski: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Rocco doubled up.

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Darryl Ronconi
Darryl Ronconi

Action folded around to Niall Farrell in the hijack, and he raised it to 32,000. Darryl Ronconi was next to act, and he moved all in, a bet of around 180,000. It got back to Farrell, and he made the call.

Farrell: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Ronconi: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Ronconi was hoping to catch an ace, but it never came, and the board ran down {4-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts}. After winning that hand, Farrell is back up to 655,000.
