Hand #264: Higher Straight for Merson

Level 39 : 500,000/1,000,000, 150,000 ante

Greg Merson had the button to start this hand. He limped the button, Jesse Sylvia called from the small blind, and Jake Balsiger checked his option in the big blind.

The flop came down {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}, and action checked around to see the {7-Clubs} land on the turn. Again, all three players checked.

The {Q-Clubs} fell on the river, and Sylvia fired 2.4 million. Balsiger made the call, then Merson raised to 4.8 million. Sylvia folded, then Balsiger called.

Balsiger showed the low end of the straight with the {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Merson had the high end with the {Q-Spades}{8-Hearts} and won the pot.
