Two starting flights are in the books, and it's time to play for the big money at Mid-States Poker Tour Riverside $1,100 Main Event.
An unprecedented field of 862 has packed the poker room plus convention center over the past couple of days, but that's been trimmed to a manageable number of 112 after 30 total levels of action, 15 apiece on each starting day. A large majority of those 112 will be cashing, and payout information should be available near the start of the day, with the money bubble bursting in the first couple of hours.
Some Midwest stalwarts will be ready to roll when things kick off, including Jeff Grimes, Phil Mader, Nick Pupillo, Alex Ziskin, Byron Ziebell, and PokerNews' own Chad Holloway. Grimes has by far and away the biggest stack after bagging a staggering sum of 809,000, but poker tournaments tend to get wild, especially in the early stages of Day 2 of these MSPTs, so things could change in a hurry.
Day 2 play kicks off with 3,000/6,000/6,000 and will see 40-minute levels played until a champion has emerged. Keep an eye on PokerNews to see who that winner will be.
