Leuaxay Turns the Nuts and Drops Opponent

Level 20 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

A player from middle position raised to 33,000 and was called by Bouaphanh Leuaxay from the hijack, along with Luke Blindert from the big blind.

The {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} flop was checked to Leuaxay who fired out 75,000 and only the initial raiser check-called to see the {k-Diamonds} fall on the turn.

Leuaxay's opponent check-jammed for roughly 400,000 after he fired out a 200,000 bet and Leuaxay snap-called.

Opponent: {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Bouaphanh Leuaxay: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Both players turned the flush, but Leuaxay held the nut flush and the {3-Spades} river eliminated his opponent from the tournament.

The Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) is making its way back to Minnesota for its Showdown Series at Running Aces Casino March 31st - April 10th.

While Canterbury Park has been the home for the MSPT since its inception in 2009, the location change should attract the same familiar faces around its home state, and the $1,100 Main Event will be accompanied by another $300K Guarantee.

Per usual, the Main Event headlines the series which is held April 7-10, with three starting flights before the field combines on Sunday to compete for the MSPT title.

Recent MSPT Minnesota winners include Kyna England ($186,709), Derek McMaster ($100,824), Anthony Dunne ($155,285), Michael Esquivel ($98,133), Mark Jaroslawski ($95,700), and Matt Kirby ($99,573).

Who will be the next one to add their name to the list of aforementioned champions? PokerNews will be on hand to provide live updates as the answer to that question is determined.
