Cunniff Doubles Through Kohner

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Gerald Cunniff
Gerald Cunniff

On a three-way flop of {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}, play was checked through with Ron Kohner in the small blind, Gerald Cunniff in the big blind and Wesley Cannon on the button.

On the {9-Spades} turn, Cunniff bet 200,000 and only Kohner called.

The river brought the {q-Spades}, and Kohner quickly led out for 500,000.

After counting down his stack, Cunniff moved all in for 665,000 more, and after a bit of thought, Kohner called.

Cunniff showed {10-Spades}{7-Spades} for a rivered flush, while Kohner frustratedly showed {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for trip queens, which went into the muck to award a large pot to Cunniff.

Kohner Now in Command

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

With blinds getting huge, a series of "small" pots in the last 20 minutes before break have moved Ron Kohner into the chip lead as players begin Level 28, with blinds of 50,000/100,000/100,000.

Cunniff Cuts into Estes' Chip Lead

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Gerald Cunniff raised to 210,000 in the cutoff and was called on the button by Mike Estes. The blinds folded and the duo was off to a flop.

It came {10-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Cunniff continued for 200,000. Estes quickly called.

The turn brought the {j-Spades}, and this time Cunniff bet 500,000. Again, it didn't take Estes long to call.

On the {k-Diamonds} river, both players checked and the hands were revealed.

Estes showed {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for two pair, tens and jacks, but Cunniff turned over {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} for a better two pair of aces and jacks.

The hand puts Cunniff within 500,000 chips of Estes' lead.

Joshua Kieval
Joshua Kieval

Mike Estes raised to 230,000 in the hijack and Joshua Kieval moved all in for about 1,300,000 from the big blind.

Estes gave it some thought and then made the call.

Joshua Kieval: {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Mike Estes: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The board came {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, bringing no help to Kieval and sending him home in 5th place, while Estes' stack is back over 5,000,000.
