Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Nick Walker
Nick Walker

The team of Nick Walker and Dan Frederick was the first to bust from the Event #5 final table.

Walker ran the {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} into Darryl Swarts' kings for peanuts and left empty handed. Hey, at least the Sabres won.

The Legion of Doom

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The team of Andrew Schneider and Kevin Kitchen have taken the chip lead on one side of the room.

On the other...not so much. In fact, they're short over there. While both players have been running hot in the one seat, they've been card dead in the other. Go figure.

In the meantime, the registration and re-entry period is now closed. The tournament at the front of the room drew 57 entries and re-entries and the one at the back saw 56. As a result, the prize pools should be relatively the same. We will update all the prize pool numbers here in the blog once they become official.

For now, both tournaments roll on with about half the field still in.

The New Age Outlaws

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Matt Marcinkiewicz
Matt Marcinkiewicz

Mark Roberts was actually rooting against teammate Alex Rivera.

The pair were down to one short stack with Rivera playing it and Roberts was hoping Rivera would bust and he wouldn't have to jump in again. His plan was to hop in a $145 Main Event qualifier running on the other side of the room, but he couldn't sign up until he knew he didn't half to tag back in this event.

With just a minute left in registration for the qualifier, Rivera made quads just to spite him.

In the meantime, the team of Matt Marcinkiewicz and Tad Blaszczak have fired so many bullets into this thing it looks like Marcinkiewicz' massive hipster ginger beard got singed a little. They're on number six combined and only have one short stack to speak of.

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Tim Glab
Tim Glab

The team of Tim Glab and Daniel Lopez are running hot in both tournaments.

All the draws got there in a hand between Glab and Rick Block on one side of the room. Still, Block was unsuccessful in his effort to bluff Glab. As a result, the Block and Alex Visbisky team are down to 4,000.

Glab and Lopez now have 75,000 and the lead on that side of the room. Plus, over on this one they've got a 50,000-chip stack and are making a bid to run deep in both.
