Lieberman Calls Correctly To Bust Lytton

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Dave Lieberman
Dave Lieberman

Dave Lieberman opened the action with a raise to 8,500 in early position and action folded around to Fred Lytton, who called in the small blind. The flop came {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Lytton checked to Lieberman, who continuation-bet 8,500. Lytton called.

The turn was the {a-Hearts} and Lytton jammed for 65,000. Lieberman went into the tank and eventually showed {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, calling as he did so.

"Is that a call?" asked the dealer. Lieberman confirmed he had called, and Lytton tabled {k-Clubs}{9-Spades}. He did not hit his gutter to Broadway on the river {3-Diamonds} and was eliminated by Lieberman as a result.

"Good call," added Lytton as he made his way from the tournament area.

Gregg Less Fortunate Versus Cartwright

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
David Gregg
David Gregg

David Gregg open-jammed under the gun and action folded around to Kyle Cartwright in the big blind, who called.

Gregg: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Cartwright: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Gregg stood up to watch the runout, which brought a safe flop of {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. The turn {8-Clubs} kept him in front, but the river {q-Diamonds} hit for Cartwright, causing Gregg to clap his hands in dispair before shaking Cartwright's hand and exiting the tournament area.

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Alexandra Loveless on Day 1
Alexandra Loveless on Day 1

Kaleb Dunn was just seen taking a new seat in the room and confirmed he caught an early double to start the day.

"Ace-king to king-queen," said Dunn. "It was a queen-high flop. There was nothing he could do."

Meanwhile, Alexandra Loveless was less fortunate, coming into the day as a short stack and getting all in preflop with {k-}{j-}-suited to BJ McBrayer's {j-}{10-}-offsuit.

The board ran out {8-}{3-}{8-}{3-}{10-}, McBrayer a better two pair on the river to eliminate her from the tournament. A total of 17 players have now fallen, with the tournament clock displaying 133 players remaining.

Powell Shows the Flush

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Dylan Lemery opened in the cutoff and received a call from Kenneth Powell, defending his big blind.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Powell checked to Lemery, who continuation-bet 10,000. Powell check-jammed for 57,000, sending Lemery into the tank for two minutes.

"I fold," Lemery eventually announced. He showed {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} in doing so, and Powell tabled {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} to show that Lemery was drawing only to running boat outs.
