Cartwright Culls Crosby

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Kyle Cartwright
Kyle Cartwright

Rebeka Crosby open-jammed for 72,000 in early position and received a call from Kyle Cartwright in the hijack, with everybody else folding behind.

Crosby: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Cartwright: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Crosby asked to flip well, but was disappointed by an ace sandwiched between an eight and a deuce on the flop of a runout {8-Spades}{a-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} to bring about her elimination from the tournament. Meanwhile, Cartwright has continued to add to his stack over the last few levels and now has

Lammie-Anders Back from the Brink

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Teresa Lammie-Anders was moved to Table 17 earlier this level with just 7,000 and blind-shoved under the gun with jack-deuce, spiking a deuce against another player's ace-jack to stay alive. An orbit later, she was in the big blind with 28,000 and saw Kenny Dang limp under the gun and Brian Page jam for around 60,000 in the small blind. Lammie-Anders called, as did Dang for a three-way preflop all in.

Lammie-Anders: {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Page: {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Dang: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

"Five!" yelled the rail of Lammie-Anders, and one appeared right away on {j-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. The turn {8-Spades} and river {a-Spades} completed the runout to secure her triple, while Dang took the side pot and eliminated Page.

Grinder's Kings Get Trampled

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Kevin Grinder open-jammed for 38,500 under the gun and Matt Stahl called in middle position, next to act at the seven-handed table. All remaining players folded.

Grinder: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Stahl: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

An unfortunate flop of {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Spades} came for Grinder, giving Stahl the nut flush and leaving Grinder in need of running full house outs to stay alive. The turn {7-Spades} squashed any chances of such an occurrence, and the river {4-Diamonds} made the hand official to bring about his elimination from the tournament.
