Yan Extends Lead with Elimination of Petrangelo

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
David Yan
David Yan

David Yan raised to 20,000 and quickly called when Nick Petrangelo moved all in to his left.

Nick Petrangelo: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}
David Yan: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Yan's pocket pair was ahead to begin the hand and the {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop did not change anything. Petrangelo could not connect on the {7-Spades} turn, while the {10-Hearts} river only improved Yan's holding to score the knockout.

Petrangelo's exit left the six remaining players on the money bubble.

Katz Eliminated on Final Table Bubble

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

On a heads-up flop of {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{a-Clubs}, Ben Heath checked to Cary Katz, who bet 24,000.

Heath called and the two saw the turn {10-Diamonds}. The action went check-check and they went to the river {6-Clubs}.

Heath checked to Katz once more, who slid out a bet of 50,000 leaving only 15,000 or so behind.

Heath went into the tank for a bit, then announced he was all in, covering Katz. Katz snap-called and flipped over {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for trip fours but was sick to his stomach when Heath rolled over {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for a rivered full house.

"Wow, bad river," he sighed as he stood up from the table while his chips were pushed over to Heath.

Holz Eliminates Selouan

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Rodrigo Selouan moved his short stack of 46,000 into the middle and was immediately at risk after Fedor Holz three-bet from the small blind. Nick Petrangelo folded and the hands were turned up.

Rodrigo Selouan: {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Fedor Holz: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Selouan was trailing from the start and the {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades} runout was no help, ending his run shy of the money.

Peters Snuffs Chidwick

Level 13 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Stephen Chidwick moved all in and was called by David Peters who had him covered.

Stephen Chidwick: {a-Clubs}{6-Spades}
David Peters: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The flop came {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{a-Spades} to give Chidwick the lead with his two pair, but the turn {9-Clubs} spelled disaster for him as he was counterfeited and Peters took the lead with his superior queen kicker. The {q-Spades} on the river sealed Chidwick's fate and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Yan Builds Big Lead

Level 13 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

David Yan raised to 18,000 and was quickly three-bet by Fedor Holz on the button to 55,000.

The action folded back around to Yan, who took a moment before announcing a four-bet to 112,000. Holz mucked his hand, as Yan added another pot to his growing chip lead.

Petrangelo Snows Winter

Level 13 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Nick Petrangelo
Nick Petrangelo

Sean Winter was under the gun when he decided to ship (most) of his remaining stack of 50,000 and left himself 1,000 behind.

The action was then on Nick Petrangelo, who just called.

"Oh my God he's snowing me!" Winter jokingly exclaimed, which is a term typically meant for someone to feign strength of a hand in a bluff attempt.

The other players got out of the way and the two went heads up to a flop of {4-Hearts}{8-Spades}{k-Clubs}.

"I've got fold equity I'm not kidding," Petrangelo stated to the table, referring to Winter's last 1,000 chip.

When Winter checked to him, he went ahead and bet the minimum of 6,000 to put Winter all in.

"Alright, I'm only calling because I'm going to lose anyways," Winter sighed as he put himself at risk.

Sean Winter: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Nick Petrangelo: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

The board completed with the {4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Winter was eliminated from the tournament as Petrangelo added more chips to his stack.
