Vogelsang Eliminated; Holz Doubles

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

Christoph Vogelsang pushed all-in for the last 140,000 he had behind and Dan Smith reraised to 300,000 from the very next seat in order to force out all opponents behind.

Christoph Vogelsang: {a-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Dan Smith: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The dominated ace of the German had an additional sweat until the {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs} turn with the wheel draw but the {j-Spades} river bricked to let the kicker play.

One table over, Fedor Holz scored a full double through Daniel Dvoress when his {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} hit a set of aces. Dvoress' {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} made aces and queens to lock up the double for Holz on the turn already.

O'Dwyer Jams Into Holz; Hecklen Eliminated by Peters

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Henrik Hecklen
Henrik Hecklen

Daniel Dvoress pushed all-in for 180,000 and won the blinds and big blind ante.

Fedor Holz raised to 30,000 from under the gun and Steve O'Dwyer called from the small blind, as did Seth Davies in the big blind. The {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop was checked to Holz, who bet 30,000. Only O'Dwyer called and checked again the {7-Clubs} on the turn. Holz bet 50,000 and folded to a shove.

Over on table three, David Peters open-jammed out of the small blind into the big blind of Henrik Hecklen, who called for the last 160,000.

Henrik Hecklen: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
David Peters: {k-Spades}{6-Hearts}

Hecklen remained ahead on the {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop but fell behind on the {k-Diamonds} turn. The {7-Clubs} river was a blank and the final two tables were set.

PN Podcast PSPC
PN Podcast PSPC

On the latest PokerNews Podcast episode of 2023, Chad Holloway and Connor Richards come to you straight from the 2023 PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold'em Championship (PSPC) in the Bahamas. First, they discuss the full schedule reveal of the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) schedule, and then dive headfirst into all things PSPC and PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

That includes interviews with PCA champ Michel Dattani, Survivor all-star "Boston" Rob Mariano, Billions and Breaking Bad actor David Costabile, and Justin Bonomo, who had a big win to extend his lead atop poker's all-time money list.

They also chat about Nick Schulman replacing Gabe Kaplan on High Stakes Poker, the new Galfond Challenge between Phil Galfond and Dan "Jungleman" Cates, Perry Green's first tournament win in 35 years, and remember Julian Track and Jeff Fogel, who both, unfortunately, passed away.

Chip Changes on All Three Tables

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

In the first hand coming back from the break, Henrik Hecklen bet the {q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{q-Spades} river for 90,000 out of the small blind. Kathy Lehne mulled it over and called to get shown {j-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for a missed straight draw, which she had beat with {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}.

In the meanwhile over on table one, Steve O'Dwyer had raised big on the button and Fedor Holz called all-in for 130,000 in the big blind. They had to wait with the showdown as a longer hand took place on table two, too.

Heads-up to a {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs} turn, Rodrigo Seiji in the big blind checked. Daniel Dvoress bet 80,000 from under the gun and Seiji called after using a time bank. The {5-Spades} river was checked back by Dvoress and Seiji's {j-Spades}{10-Hearts} for two pair won the pot.

Fedor Holz: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Steve O'Dwyer: {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Big stack O'Dwyer had put pressure on the two shorter stacks and Holz doubled despite a sweat on the {q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{a-Diamonds} runout.

Mateos Wins Three-Bet Pot

Level 16 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Dan Smith raised to 26,000 in the cutoff and Adrian Mateos three-bet to 72,000 on the button after checking the stack size of his table neighbour. Smith came along to see the {j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop on which he check-folded to a bet of 57,000 by the Spaniard.

Mateos then raised to 25,000 next but let go after Rodrigo Seiji three-bet to 70,000 in the cutoff.

Deuces Almost Never Loses Except for Shakerchi

Level 16 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Talal Shakerchi
Talal Shakerchi

Steve O'Dwyer min-raised to 24,000 on the button and Talal Shakerchi then simply moved all-in for 282,000 out of the small blind. It folded back to O'Dwyer, who asked for a count and made the call.

Talal Shakerchi: {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Steve O'Dwyer: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}

The dominated pair failed to connect on the {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} board and O'Dwyer joined the chip millionaires.
