Petrangelo Chips Up in Showdown

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

The field remains stuck at 12 contestants for an extended period considering all the frantic early action. They are one hour away from a 75-minute break and several stack sizes are becoming more even.

Right in the middle of the pack is also Nick Petrangelo, who check-called a bet of 85,000 by Steve O'Dwyer on the {j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Clubs} river. O'Dwyer showed the {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for a bluff and Petrangelo won the pot with {j-Spades}{6-Spades} for jacks and sixes.

A Shove by Haxton Gets Through

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Isaac Haxton raised to 40,000 from under the gun and was called by Aleksejs Ponakovs in the very next seat. Dan Smith was also in the mix out of the small blind.

By the time the turn showed {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}, it checked to Haxton who pushed all-in for 215,000. Ponakovs asked for an exact count and reluctantly folded. Smith double-checked his cards twice and also settled on a fold as well.

Small Pots for a Change

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Nick Petrangelo raised to 45,000 and folded when Fedor Holz three-bet to 110,000 on the button, awarding yet another pot to the German.

Seth Davies got a shove through on the same table and earned some precious chips.

Over on table one, a single-raised pot was checked to the {k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} river. Aleksejs Ponakovs was facing a bet of 85,000 by Dan Smith, the latter of which was under the gun. One time bank extension expired and Ponakovs then folded while the second 30-second period just about ticked over.

Peters Gets River Value From Mateos; Holz Doubles

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

On the tail end of a heads-up pot to the {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{a-Clubs} river, David Peters bet 90,000. Adrian Mateos called after a few seconds of deliberation and tossed his cards towards the muck when Peters rolled over the {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for a pair of aces with jack kicker.

Mateos then grabbed his cards to double check them again before mucking them for certain.

"It's been a long couple of weeks," Isaac Haxton exclaimed with a grin on the face.

Over on table two, Fedor Holz had just started receiving a massage when he was all-in for 270,000 and looked up by Steve O'Dwyer.

Fedor Holz: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Steve O'Dwyer: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}

The {9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades} board delivered the overcard on the turn and Holz doubled.

O'Dwyer Takes the Lead After Ousting Dvoress

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

Day 1 chip leader Daniel Dvoress got his shorter stack into the middle and earned a quick call by Steve O'Dwyer. The rest of the table got out of the way.

Daniel Dvoress: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Steve O'Dwyer: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

The {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop kept O'Dwyer ahead and Dvoress was in need of a jack to survive. Nothing changed with the {k-Spades} turn and the {q-Spades} river only improved O'Dwyer to a full house.

By claiming that pot, O'Dwyer leaped into the lead as Aleksejs Ponakovs three-bet folded to a shove by Adrian Mateos to forfeit 135,000 out of the big blind.

Peters Chips Up; Davies Binks a River Double

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Seth Davies
Seth Davies

David Peters defended his big blind against a button raise by Adrian Mateos to then check-raise the {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop, which Mateos called. The {3-Spades} followed on the turn and Peters bet 90,000 to force out Mateos.

Over on the other table, Steve O'Dwyer made it 30,000 to go from under the gun and Seth Davies pushed all-in for 100,000 in the very next seat. Fedor Holz called in the big blind and O'Dwyer folded.

Seth Davies: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Fedor Holz: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

The classic flip went in favour of Davies albeit only on the river of a {9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} runout.

Dvoress Doubles Through Holz

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

Daniel Dvoress raised to 60,000 before the flop and received a single caller in Fedor Holz out of the hijack.

The duo headed to the {9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop on which Dvoress checked with the 25,000 he had behind. Holz bet as much and Dvoress called all-in.

Daniel Dvoress: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Fedor Holz: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

The pocket pair remained ahead on the {a-Clubs} turn but Dvoress improved thanks to the {q-Clubs} on the river.
