Shevliakov Doubles as Coelho Misclicks

Level 33 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Aleksandr Shevliakov opened to 1,500,000 in the cutoff and Diogo Coelho took some time before pushing out a stack of chips from the big blind for an attempted raise. Coelho did not announce a raise and did not put out enough for a raise so it was ruled a call.

Coelho checked on the flop of {10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and Shevliakov moved all in for 1,200,000. Coelho went deep in the tank and eventually called.

"I'm f***ed," said Shevliakov.

Aleksandr Shevliakov: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Diogo Coelho: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Shevliakov's fours were still ahead and nothing changed on the {6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} runout to earn him the double through the chip leader.

Action Slows As Pay Jumps Increase

Level 33 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Action has consisted of single raises, all ins and folds for the last few circuits, with action not making a flop and no players calling all in. The next pay jump is worth 83,500 and three players are short stacked, so players are reluctant to commit their stacks.

Blinds are set to increase in less than 20 minutes, which should put even more pressure on the shorter stacks to make a move.

Mauricio Ferreira Pais Eliminated in 5th Place (213,700)

Diogo Coelho opened to 400,000 from the hijack and Diogo Coelho called off for his final big blind on the button.

Mauricio Ferreira Pais: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Diogo Coelho: {5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}

Pais was in as good of shape to double up as he could be, though the flop of {5-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} created the possibility of a brutal beat. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn didn't change things but the {5-Hearts} on the river gave Coelho trips and Pais looked disgusted as he was painfully eliminated in fifth place after patiently waiting for a good hand with his short stack.

Shevliakov Doubles Again To Stay In Tournament

Level 32 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Action folded around to Diogo Coelho, now sitting on the biggest stack, who shoved all in from the small blind into his opponent's short stack. Aleksandr Shevliakov made the call in the big blind and players flipped their cards.

Aleksandr Shevliakov: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Diogo Coelho: {k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

The board ran out {q-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{8-Spades}. Shevliakov's pocket tens held and he doubled up again for a second time in two orbits.

Coelho Flips With Kaukua for Massive Double

Level 32 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Diogo Coelho

Martin Stausholm opened to 400,000 from the hijack and Toni Kaukua three-bet jammed from the cutoff before Diogo Coelho went into the tank from the button.

Kaukua clearly wasn't expecting action Coelho, one of the few at the table who could seriously dent his stack, and gave a nervous look before his opponent announced "all in" for 5,800,000. Stausholm got out of the way.

Diogo Coelho: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Toni Kaukua: {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

It was a massive flip and Coelho took a big lead as the flop landed {k-Hearts}{3-Spades}{a-Spades} to give him two pair. The {5-Clubs} turn gave Kaukua outs to a Wheel, but the {q-Hearts} on the river confirmed the double into the chip lead for Coelho.

Shevliakov Doubles With Pocket Aces

Level 32 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Toni Kaukua continued to raise it up preflop. This time, Aleksandr Shevliakov went all in from the small blind for 580,000. Kauka called and players flipped their cards.

Aleksandr Shevliakov: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
Toni Kaukua: {k-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Shevliakov's pocket aces held up and he doubled up, although he still has less than ten big blinds and will be under pressure again in the coming hands.

Shevliakov More Than Doubles

Level 31 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Martin Stausholm opened to 300,000 from the cutoff and Toni Kaukua three-bet jammed from the button. Aleksandr Shevliakov called off in the big blind with a short stack and Stausholm folded.

Aleksandr Shevliakov: {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Toni Kaukua: {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Shevliakov had his opponent dominated and nothing changed on the {4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades} runout to earn him more than a double.

"Back in the game," said Kaukua.
