Redraw of the Final Two Tables

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

There are just two minutes remaining in the level as the final 16 players are on their new allocated seat assignments. Stephen Chidwick is in dire need of a miracle as he was left with fewer than one full blind with the big blind approaching. Action will continue hand-for-hand on the cash prize bubble.

Van Hoof Runs Out of Chips

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Jorryt van Hoof
Jorryt van Hoof

Jorryt van Hoof pushed all in for his last 70,000 from under the gun and Jamil Wakil re-raised to 130,000 in the cutoff. Ren Lin four-bet shoved all in from the big blind and Wakil was forced to give up his hand.

Jorryt van Hoof: {k-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Ren Lin: {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}

The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades} to eliminate Van Hoof and bring the field down to just two tables. The final 16 players will now be hand-for-hand with just 15 places being paid.

Nozomu and Nikiforov Ousted

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Shimizu Nozomu shoved all in for 405,000 from under the gun and Jamil Wakil re-shoved all in on his left. The rest of the table folded and the two hands were tabled.

Shimizu Nozomu: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Jamil Wakil: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Wakil was in a dominating position and the flop of {k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} put him even further ahead. The {10-Spades} on the turn gave Nozomu a few outs but the {9-Hearts} on the river was not one of them.

Next door, Ilya Nikiforov was all in for around 300,000 with {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} but was up against the big stack of Pedro Garagnani with {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and Nikiforov was also eliminated.

Facing Potential Criminal Charges, Chris Moneymaker Closes Kentucky Poker Room

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Christopher Moneymaker
Chris Moneymaker

Chris Moneymaker has been forced to cease poker operations at his Kentucky card room, Moneymaker Social Club, following threats of criminal action from local authorities.

The poker room, located in Paducah, had just opened in September and had originally received approval from the then McCracken County Attorney Sam Clymer. But Clymer's replacement, Cade Foster, has reversed course on the decision to allow Moneymaker Social Club to continue spreading poker games.

Moneymaker, who potentially would have faced misdemeanor and felony charges related to illegal gambling gambling is illegal in Kentucky told PokerNews in an exclusive interview that will be available on this week's upcoming episode of the PokerNews Podcast what happened and what his plans are now with the business he invested hundreds of thousands to open less than a year ago.

"We've decided to pull out the poker tables and shut down the poker part of the business," Moneymaker said. "Actually, that's the biggest part of the business right now."

Kuznetsov Busts Chaoui; Draws Large Bounty

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Mehdi Chaoui
Mehdi Chaoui

Bruno Volkmann raised to 50,000 on the button and Mehdi Chaoui let his shot clock run down to five seconds before he pushed all-in for 230,000 out of the small blind. Nikita Kuznetsov in the big blind went over the top and Volkmann released his cards into the muck.

Mehdi Chaoui: {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Nikita Kuznetsov: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop was of not much help but the {9-Clubs} turn provided a mandatory sweat for Chaoui. However, the {4-Hearts} river came a blank and the young Frenchman departed. Kuznetsov went on to redeem his bounty shortly after and picked the envelope with the largest prize left in contention: 50,000.

"Sorry guys," he said with a grin on the face after revealing the prize to all remaining opponents.

Hissou Back in Business

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Sirzat Hissou
Sirzat Hissou

Julien Sitbon raised to 40,000 and Tom Orpaz called. On the button, Erik Seidel pushed all-in and Sirzat Hissou called all-in. When it was back on Sitbon, he instantly inquired "can I have those counts, please?".

Hissou was all-in for 75,000 while Seidel's shove was for 370,000. Sitbon folded and Orpaz also let go, exposing an ace.

Sirzat Hissou: {4-Spades}{3-Spades}
Erik Seidel: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The {q-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop gave Hissou a pair and flush draw. No upset followed thereafter with the {j-Diamonds} turn and {7-Clubs} river as Hissou leaped back into contention.

Volkmann Goes Down and Back Up

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Bruno Volkmann raised to 40,000 in middle position and was called by Pablo Navarro in the small blind. The flop came {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} and Volkmann continued with a bet of 25,000. Navarro check-raised to 85,000 and Volkmann jammed all in. Navarro quickly called off his stack of 185,000 and the cards were on their backs.

Pablo Navarro: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}
Bruno Volkmann: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Navarro flopped a combo draw and the {10-Hearts} on the turn made his straight to leave Volkmann drawing dead to the {3-Diamonds} on the river.

A couple of hands later, Andre Marques raised to 40,000 on the button and Volkmann three-bet to 140,000 from the big blind. Marques snap-called and tabled {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} against the {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} of Volkmann.

The board ran out {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Volkmann made a full house to double back up.

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Felipe Ketzer
Felipe Ketzer

It folded all the way to Felipe Ketzer in the small blind and he pushed all-in, then instantly vaulted out of his chair and was ready to leave. Ren Lin glanced at his cards and called, exclaiming "adios amigo" in table chat.

Ketzer suggested to reveal one card after the other, which both did with a grin on the face.

Felipe Ketzer: {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Ren Lin: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Lin had one of his "Lady Gaga" cards once again and remained ahead on the {6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop, though, Ketzer picked up a gutshot. The Brazilian asked for a four but his wish wasn't granted with the {10-Diamonds} turn and {a-Clubs} river.
