Flanagan and Then Exit

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Tommy Flanagan fired out 60,000 into a pot of 90,000 on a flop of {q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, and Cathy Dever moved all in for effectively 300,000 or so. Flanagan tanked for no more than 60 seconds, then called.

Flanagan: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Dever: {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

"No king, no nine," Flanagan said, holding a superior flush draw.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds}.

"F***!" he blurted. "Haaaaart!"

The river was not a heart, rather it was the {6-Clubs}.

"F***!" he echoed.

Dever offered her empathy, having busted in several tournaments herself over the years, and Flanagan collected himself before heading to the cage to get paid. Dever chipped up to around 700,000.

On an adjacent table, Atesa Pacelli eliminated Armando Then with {a-}{7-} against {6-}{6-}.

Takhalov Gets River Value

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Jim McMillin raised to 30,000 in the cutoff, Yuri Takhalov defended his big blind, and the flop came {k-Spades}{3-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Takhalov check-called another 30,000 from McMillin, both players knuckled on the turn ({4-Hearts}) and the {j-Diamonds} completed the board.

Takhalov fired out 100,000, McMillin called, and Takhalov ripped over {j-Spades}{10-Spades} for a pair of jacks. McMillin mucked.

Dever Doubles

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Cathy Dever
Cathy Dever

Tommy Flanagan opened to 32,000 from the cutoff and Cathy Dever flatted holding the button.

The flop came down {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and after Flanagan knuckled the felt Dever shipped for her last 130,000. Flanagan sized up the situation for a few moments before making the call.

Dever: {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Flanagan: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Dever's two pair was still vulnerable to Flanagan's open-ended straight draw, but the turn ({4-Diamonds}) and river ({q-Hearts}) bricked off to send the double her way.

A few hands later though, Flanagan doubled up to regain his traction.

Meyer Busts One

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

John Meyer raised to 28,000 in the hijack, a player on his direct left made the call, and the rest of the player folded.

The dealer fanned a flop of {2-Spades}{j-Clubs}{q-Spades}, Meyer led out for 53,000, and his opponent came along for the ride.

The turn was the {j-Hearts}, Meyer moved all in for effectively 90,000 or so, and again the player called.

Meyer: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

The {j-Spades} completed the board, and the player was eliminated. Meyer is up to 540,000 chips.

Say Goodbye to Hollywood

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Roland Israelashvili
Roland Israelashvili

A player in middle position opened for 32,000 and Roland Israelashvili flatted from the hijack, with the blinds coming along to build a pot in excess of 130,000 before the flop.

After seeing the {6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs} hit the board both blinds checked to the preflop raiser, who went deep into the tank to ponder his next move. The man sighed visibly and stared across the table, studying the players in the blinds and eyeing up the pot, before rechecking his hole cards.

Eventually though, despite the histrionics, the player tapped the table for a check, with Israelashvili quickly tossing out a bet of 100,000. Both blinds couldn't wait to fold after the two-minute wait on the flop, and the action returned the tanker.

He again went into deep thought, looking over at Israelashvili in the next seat to his left, before slowly counting out his own stack to see he had 135,000 behind. Finally, after another minute of contemplation, the man decided to release his hand and fight another day.

"I call if you shove..." said Israelashvili quietly, filling the man in on what everyone else at the table already knew.

Pada Punched

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

In another cooler involving aces, kings and a queen-high board, Andy Pada was just eliminated by Gene Mulroy.

Mulroy's {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} put the hurting on Pada's {K-}{K-} through the flop, turn and river, sending a a pot which equates to the current average stack to Mulroy.
