Calderaro and Kaverman Fall

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
James Calderaro
James Calderaro

James Calderaro was just eliminated from the tournament in an all-in preflop situation in which Jake Ferro opened in middle position to 27,000 and Calderaro three-bet in the cutoff. Ferro came over the top for Calderaro's effective stack of about 350,000 and Calderaro called it off.

"I hope you have ace-king" said Calderaro as he tabled {10-}{10-}. Ferro showed {j-}{j-} and a queen-high runout kept it best to eliminate Calderaro in 24th place. By the time he made his way to the payout desk, the previously short-stacked Byron Kaverman had joined him. The two exchanged fist bumps as they were paid $6,803 apiece and 22 players now remain.

Davis Busts To Bring the Redraw

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Tens Lose to Jacks
Tens Lose to Jacks

"All in," announced Todd Davis in the cutoff, shoving for around 170,000. Nate Bandy announced a call on the button and both blinds folded.

"Do you have a pair?" asked Davis as he showed {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Bandy acknowledged that he did and tabled {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Bandy picked up a gutter on the turn of a runout {7-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{9-Clubs} but failed to improve any further on the river and was eliminated in 25th place as a result.

The tournament clock has now been paused as all seats and table rails are sanitized before players take their new seats for the three-table redraw. The new seat draw will be posted shortly.

Meet the Jacksons

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
David Jackson
David Jackson

Gloria Jackson open-jammed for her last 116,000 on the button and received action from Dustin Holladay in the small blind.

Gloria Jackson: {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Dustin Holladay: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The flop {10-Hearts}{5-Spades}{a-Diamonds} gave both players two pair, ultimately reducing Jackson's number of outs by one-third. No matter, she improved to fives full on the turn {5-Clubs} and held as the river {6-Hearts} completed the runout to earn her the double.

Seconds later one table over, Dom Mosley got all of his chips into the middle preflop against David Jackson.

Dom Mosley: {k-}{k-}
David Jackson: {a-}{a-}

One Jackson winning a big pot was not enough as a safe runout came on board for David Jackson to earn him the pot and knock Mosley out of the tournament. As the commotion died down, Kelly Joe Andrews was also eliminated from the same table just one hand later to bring the field down to 26.

Jones Toasted

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Jesse Jones
Jesse Jones

Jesse Jones ripped in his last 135,000 under the gun and action folded around to Johnny Landreth, who called on the button.

Jesse Jones: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Johnny Landreth: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Jones' situation became dire on the flop {8-Spades}{a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} but he picked up a backdoor gutter on the turn {7-Spades}. Unfortunately for him, it failed to hit on the river {q-Diamonds} and he was eliminated from the tournament as a result.

Gorsuch Busts To Big Slick

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
John Gorsuch
John Gorsuch

Jermaine Gerlin had opened in early position before action folded around to John Gorsuch, who was on the button and re-shoved for 43,000. Gerlin called once it was his turn to do so, showing Gorsuch the bad news.

John Gorsuch: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Jermaine Gerlin: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

A ten was nowhere to be found on the runout {4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Gorsuch was eliminated in 31st place as the first elimination since the break more than halfway through Level 18.

Askey Holds for the Dub

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Anthony Askey
Anthony Askey

Steven Payten opened the action with a raise to 21,000 in middle position and Anthony Askey re-jammed from the hijack. Action folded back to Askey.

"Got my hand in the cookie jar! How much is it?" said Payten.

"Ninety-four (thousand)," responded Askey.

"Shit!" said Askey. The dealer cut out Askey's stack to confirm his total was 94,000 and Payten put in chips to call.

Anthony Askey: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Steven Payten: {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

An ace on the flop {2-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} put Askey even further ahead and he remained there through the turn {5-Diamonds} and river {j-Spades} to double shortly after returning from break.
