An irate player from one of the cash games stormed past us on his way out of the Crown Poker Room, yelling and screaming after a brutal bad beat.
"I'm never playing poker again!" he cried. "Until tomorrow, anyway."
Perhaps a good night's sleep will do the man some good.

Damien Lui has just eliminated German Marchese in a huge hand on table 48.
After some heavy action preflop, Lui and Marchese were the only two out of four players involved that ended up with their money in the middle.
Lui:
Marchese:
The board was spread ; amazingly, Lui had managed to score a backdoor flush against Marchese's top set - and it would have been even more beneficial had the other two players who folded preflop been involved.
One claimed to have folded pocket fours while the other had apparently folded pocket sixes! Could you imagine - set over set over set beaten by a backdoor flush?
In any case, it was still very profitable for Lui, who is now on 68,000 in chips. Marchese was left with nought.
