This weekend sees women from around the world head to GGPoker for the 21st bracelet-awarding event of the 2022 WSOP Online festival. Event #21 is the $500 buy-in Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship, a tournament that is sure to be fiercely fought over as female poker players attempt to join an ever-growing list of female WSOP bracelet winners.

Every since Vera Richmond took down the $1,000 Limit Ace to Five Draw event at the 1982 World Series of Poker, poker-loving women have attempted to follow in her footsteps. Such greats as Barbara Enright, Linda Johnson, Jennifer Harman, and Vanessa Selbst have gone on to become recipients of poker's most sought-after jewelry. More recently, at the 2022 WSOP in Las Vegas, Katie Kopp won the $500 Casino Employees event, while Jessica Teusl took down the $1,000 Ladies Championship.

Cards in this online Ladies Championship are in the air from 7:00 p.m. BST on September 11, with late registration open until the end of the 15th level, which will be 11:05 p.m. BST. Everyone in the Ladies event sits down with a generous helping of 25,000 chips, the equivalent of 250 big blinds, and plays to a 15-minute clock where the blinds start at 50/100/12a. Should any ladies buy in during the last level of late registration, they will still receive 100 big blinds, which goes to show how fantastic the blind structure is in this tournament.

The plan of action is to complete 17 levels or play down to the final table of nine, whichever comes sooner. The surviving players then return to the GGPoker virtual felt at 6:00 p.m. on September 17 to conclude the tournament.

A warning in the tournament's lobby states that this event is for female poker players only. All non-female players will be disqualified and their chips removed from play before the commencement of Day 2.
