The Online Railbird Report: Biggest Pots of April,

The Online Railbird Report seeks to keep you updated on the high-stakes cash action that takes place on PokerStars, and unlike the month of March, this week's edition doesn't touch much on Alexander "joiso" Kostritsyn nor Viktor "Isildur1" Blom.

Instead, this week belonged to "cumicon," who finished as the week's biggest winner after profiting $132,810 in 3,549 hands over 30 sessions. Other winners included "Ravenswood13" (+$112,270 in 18 sessions/2,322 hands), Elior "Crazy Elior" Sion (+$96,841 in 39 sessions/4,418 hands), and "RaulGonzalez" (+$90,878 in 22 sessions/3,246 hands).

On the other end of the spectrum, no one did worse than "flong78," who lost $197,828 in 7,388 hands over 50 sessions. Likewise, it was a bad week for Dani "supernova9" Stern (-$143,651 in 32 sessions/3,618 hands), Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky (-$107,769 in 8 sessions/1,051 hands), and "omaha4rollz" (-$100,623 in 6 sessions/186 hands).

"RaulGonzalez" vs. "flong78"

On Friday, April 1, "RaulGonzalez" and "flong78" squared off at the $400/$800 8-game tables. The duo played for 4.5 hours over three different sessions, and according to HighStakesDB, "RaulGonzalez" won $54,600 over 542 hands in the first.

A half hour later, the two were back at it and "RaulGonzalez" won an additional $15,000 in just 30 minutes. In the last session, which lasted an hour, "RaulGonzalez" won another $30,500.

Stern vs. "cumicon" Part 1

On Sunday, April 3, Stern and "cumicon" played pot-limit Omaha for five hours in the early-morning hours. Stern, who had lost $72,000 the day before, managed to win $78,300 in that match. Then, in the early morning hours of Monday, the two were back at it for another 4.5 hours. It proved a swingy affair, but in the end Stern won $112,800.

In the biggest hand of the match, "cumicon" ($67,598.87) raised to $680 on the button and then called when Stern ($50,907.50) three-bet to $2,120. The J?2?9? flop saw Stern lead out for $3,237.75, "cumicon" called, and the 7? appeared on the turn.

Stern proceeded to check-call a bet of $8,100 and then check-called one of $26,992.50 on the 4? river. "cumicon" tabled the 7?7?K?8? for trip sevens, and it was good enough to win the $81,060.50 pot as Stern simply sent his hand to the muck.

Stern vs. "cumicon" Part 2

On Thursday, April 7, Stern and "cumicon" were back at it, but this time it was the latter who walked away the winner to the tune of $186,400, which was more than enough to make him the day's biggest winner.

According to HighStakesDB, the two played for 725 hands over 4.5 hours, though they didn't account for the biggest pot of the day. Instead, that took place in a game of $200/$400 PLO, which ran for nearly an hour and included the likes of Ben "Ben86" Tollerene, David "Deldar182" Eldar, and "TheFish77," just to name a few.

"TheFish77" was the biggest winner in the $200/$400 PLO game, winning $71,600 and finishing second on the daily leaderboard. He also won the biggest pot of the day.

It happened during five-handed action when "TheFish77" ($48,936.35) opened for $1,200 under the gun and was met by a three-bet to $4,200 from "omaha4rollz" ($47,395) in the cutoff seat. The players on the button and in the blinds all folded, "TheFish77" called, and it was heads-up action to the 10?6?J? flop.

"TheFish77" checked, "omaha4rollz" bet $5,200, and "TheFish77" check-raised to $24,595. "omaha4rollz" then moved all in for $43,195 total and "TheFish77" called to create a $95,390 pot.

"TheFish77": 10?10?9?7?
"omaha4rollz": A?A?6?Q?

"TheFish77" flopped a set of tens to pull ahead of "omaha4rollz's" aces, but the 2? turn gave the latter a flush draw to go with his straight draw. Unfortunately for him, the 7? river was a blank and he watched the pot pushed to his opponent.

The Two Biggest Pots of April Thus Far

While the above hands were nice, they weren't the biggest of the month. In fact, there were two bigger, both won by Sulsky during the PLO round when he was playing $250/$500 mixed. Check them out.

Hand #1: In the biggest hand of April thus far, action was heads up when Kostritsyn ($68,319.72) opened for $1,500 and was met by a three-bet to $4,500 by Sulsky ($81,282.28) on the button. Kostritsyn pushed back for $13,500, Sulsky popped it to $40,500, and Kostritsyn moved all in.

Sulsky made the call and the board was run out twice, coming 7?4?7?3?10? and 3?J?10?2?7?, respectively. Sulsky tabled the A?A?5?5?, and it proved good enough to win both run outs as Kostritsyn mucked. Ship the $136,639.44 pot to Sulsky.

Hand #2: In the second-biggest hand of April thus far, Sulsky ($49,900) raised to $1,500, Kostritsyn ($79,958) called, and the flop came down 7?2?5?. Kostritsyn bet $1,978.02, Sulsky called, and the A? peeled off on the turn. Kostritsyn bet $3,476.52, Sulsky raised to $14,349.84, and Kostritsyn three-bet to $53,479.08. Sulsky called off his $32k and change, which created a $103,276.52 pot.

Kostritsyn: K?2?6?7?
Sulsky: Q?10?4?10?

Kostritsyn held two pair and was representing the nut flush, but it didn't work as Sulsky held some spades of his own. Kostritsyn was looking to pair a deuce or seven, but that didn't happen as neither the 3? river on the first run nor K? on the second helped him.
