Day 2 of the 2015 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event a tournament that attracted 313 entries and created a prize pool of 3,067,400 saw 184 players return to the Spielbank Berlin for six more 90-minute levels. By the time the clock expired, just 65 remained, meaning 33 players still need to fall before the money is reached.

Leading the way with 374,800 is European Poker Tour Season 11 Player of the Year Dzmitry Urbanovich, who ran over the competition much of the day. That included picking up the A?A? to eliminate Georgios Karakousis, who held the A?K?, and sending reigning EPT Malta champ Jean Montury, who held KxJx, to the rail with pocket jacks.

According to updates from the event, one notable pro that hit the rail was EPT Barcelona champ John Juanda. It happened when Day 1a chip leader Niall Farrell opened for 5,500 from the small blind and Juanda defended from the big to see a flop of 6?4x6x. Juanda proceeded to call a bet of 6,000, and then called one of 15,500 on the A? turn.

When the J? completed the board on the river, Farrell moved all in and Juanda called off his last 50,000 with AxJx. Unfortunately for him, it was no good as Farrell had flopped trips with the 6?9?. Farrell went on to finish fourth in chips with 300,900, while Day 1b chip leader Peter Norman also survived with 127,000.

Others who made it through Day 2 include Dominik Nitsche (166,100), who spoke to PokerNews earlier in the day about his luck in WSOP events; the enlightened Andrew Lichtenberger (165,500), Team PokerStars Pros Jason Mercier (140,900) and Liv Boeree (67,000), and former WCOOP winner Fedor Holz (38,400).

Of course not everyone was so lucky. Among those to fall over the course of play were Nicolau Villa Lobos, Barry Shulman, Jonathan Duhamel, Scott Davies, Sergio Aido, Scott Clements, Zvi Stern, Roberto Romanello, Stephen Chidwick, Allen Kessler, and current WSOP Player of the Year leader Mike Gorodinsky.

The elimination of Gorodinsky means Brian Hastings has a chance to overtake him. Gorodinsky currently sits with 2,251.81 points and Hastings is trailing with 2,122.53, which means the latter can take the lead with a min-cash. That said, there is still a High Roller event to take place at 4 p.m. local time on Wednesday, so anything can happen.

Hastings was actually at risk late in the night against Urbanovich. The two got it all in preflop with Hastings' AxJx well ahead of Urbanovich's Ax8x. The board ran out a safe 10x5x3x10xKx, and Hastings shipped a much-needed double.

Day 3 action will kick off at Noon local time on Wednesday. PokerNews will bring you a recap upon completion of play.
