Viktor "Isildur1" Blom

There was plenty of high-stakes action on PokerStars and Full Tilt this week. Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, who was on a two-week losing streak, rebounded by finishing as this week's biggest winner after profiting $347,585 in 8,311 hands spread across 42 sessions.

The Swede's good week took place on Full Tilt, while others on the leaderboard made their fortune on PokerStars including Elior "Crazy Elior" Sion (+$216,221 in 21 sessions/3,556 hands), "jricardosc" (+$169,363 in 23 sessions/2,172 hands) and "HeadShotFyoV" (+$140,340 in 6 sessions/698 hands).

On the other end of the spectrum, "bbvisbadforme" was the week's biggest loser after dropping $282,949 in 1,713 hands spread across five sessions. Not far behind was "Patriktortonius," who lost $226,455 in 6,591 hands over 22 sessions.

Blom vs. "Patriktortonius" in Daylong 8-Game Battle

On Wednesday, Feb. 4, Viktor "Isildur1" Blom and Russian pro "Patriktortonius," not to be confused with Patrik Antonius, squared off at the $1,500/$3,000 8-game tables on Full Tilt. The duo first met midday and played 1,379 hands over nearly six hours. Blom ended winning $265,700 in their first foray. Here's a look at some notable hands from that match.

Hand #1: The biggest pot of the match occurred in a round of $300/$600 no-limit hold'em when Blom ($224,793.75) raised to $1,800 from the button and then called when "Patriktortonius" three-bet to $4,800, which brought about a flop of 2?3?4?. "Patriktortonius" led out for $6,000, Blom raised to $15,600, and "Patriktortonius" called before both players checked the 5? turn.

When the 3? completed the board on the river, "Patriktortonius" checked but wasted little time in calling off his last $68,357.50 after Blom moved all in. The Swede tabled the A?5? for a wheel, but it was no good as "Patriktortonius" took down the $177,515 pot with his 6?K? six-high straight.

Hand #2: Playing the same game, Blom ($166,406.75) raised to $1,800 from the button and "Patriktortonius" ($147,089.50) called to see a flop of 8?2?4?. "Patriktortonius" checked, Blom bet $3,000, and "Patriktortonius" check-raised to $6,000. Blom called and then bet $10,800 after his opponent checked the J? turn. "Patriktortonius" made the call and then checked the 3? river. Blom bet a hefty $45,000, and "Patriktortonius" just called with his A?5? straight. Blom showed the K?K? and watched the $127,200 pot pushed to his Russian adversary.

Hand #3: In a round of $300/$600 pot-limit Omaha, Blom ($183,651.25) raised to $1,800 on the button and then called when "Patriktortonius" ($130,112) three-bet to $5,400 from the big blind. After the flop fell 4?7?J?, "Patriktortonius" bet $5,400, Blom called, and the 5? appeared on the turn.

"Patriktortonius" check-called a bet of $15,600, and then check-called one of $36,400 on the 7? river. Blom tabled the 8?6?6?K? for a straight, but it was no good as "Patriktortonius" filled up on the river with the 7?4?8?10?. Ship the $125,600 pot to "Patriktortonius."

Hand #4:

Blom went on to win some more from "Patriktortonius" later in the day, as well as some $1,000/$2,000 2-7 triple draw scores against Steven "Zugwat" Silverman, to bring his daily total up to $390,900, which was more than enough to make him the day's biggest winner. Unfortunately for him, he pressed his luck after the clock rolled past midnight and proceeded to lose $177,600 back to "Patriktortonius," which means he basically won $213,000 in Wednesday play.

Blom vs. Silverman in Friday Foray

The Online Railbird Report: Blom Ends Two-Week Skid with 7,585 Win 101
Steven "Zugwat" Silverman

On Friday, Feb. 6, Viktor "Isildur1" Blom and Steven "Zugwat" Silverman were once again battling at the 2-7 triple draw tables on Full Tilt. In just over eight hours, Blom managed to relieve his opponent of $280,000. The Swede, who lost some of it later in the day C including $21,000 to "Patriktortonius" in six hands at the 8-game tables C ended up finishing as the day's biggest winner with $259,100 in profit.

Speaking of "Patriktortonius," he ended up winning $209,000 on the day. That's because in addition to the money he won from Blom, he took $188,000 from "Carlooo13" at the $1,000/$2,000 8-game tables on Full Tilt. As for PokerStars, HighStakesDB has Elior "Crazy Elior" Sion as Friday's biggest winner with $76,000 in profit, all of which came from the $400/$800 8-game tables.

Forget the Sunday Majors: Kibler-Melby & Blom Clean Up at the Nosebleeds

On Sunday, Feb. 8, the nosebleeds were going strong on both Full Tilt and PokerStars. No one benefited from the action more than Cort "thecortster" Kibler-Melby, who won $313,900 playing "Trueteller" at in three separate sessions of $2,000/$4,000 2-7 triple draw.

The second-biggest winner on Sunday was Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, who won $226,600 off "Patriktortonius" at the 8-game tables. Their biggest hand, which was also the biggest pot of the day, took place in a round of $300/$600 pot-limit Omaha when Blom ($152,141) opened for $1,800 from the button and was met by a three-bet to $5,400 from "Patriktortonius" ($78,492). Blom pushed back with a four-bet to $16,200, "Patriktortonius" called, and the flop fell 3?10?6?. "Patriktortonius" checked, Blom bet $32,400, and "Patriktortonius" check-raised all in for $62,292. Blom called and the cards were tabled.

Blom: A?K?K?10?
"Patriktortonius": K?J?Q?5?

Blom was ahead with his kings, but "Patriktortonius" was drawing to a flush. The two agreed to run it twice, and the 4? turn and J? river on the first saw Blom secure half the pot. "Patriktortonius" had another chance at it, but came up empty once again as the 3? blanked on the turn followed by the 9? river. With that, Blom scooped the $156,984 pot.

Another Sunday winner was Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies, who if you recall was last week's biggest winner. Sahamies' $104,100 win came from the PLO tables on PokerStars. Here's a look at his biggest pot, which ended up being a big cooler for Isaac Haxton.

"Carlooo13" Puts Together Back-to-Back Winning Days

On Monday, Feb. 9, Viktor "Isildur1" Blom lost $279,100 to "Carlooo13" playing $2,000/$4,000 fixed-limit Omaha hi/low. A day later, "Carlooo13" kept the ball rolling by finishing as Tuesday's second-biggest winner with $177,000 in profit after taking on "Patriktortonius" at the $1,000/$2,000 8-game tables.

The two played more than 1,000 hands over a four-hour period, and "Carlooo13" jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Even so, he did lose the day's biggest pot, albeit by getting unlucky. It happened in a round of $200/$400 pot-limit Omaha when "Carlooo13" ($136,966.60) opened for $1,200 and "Patriktortonius" ($60,202.40) three-bet to $3,600. "Carlooo13" four-bet to $10,800, "Patriktortonius" called, and the flop came out J?Q?K?.

"Patriktortonius" led out for $21,600 and then called off the roughly $27,000 he had back after "Carlooo13" had raised to $76,680.

"Carlooo13": K?10?A?8?
"Patriktortonius": A?Q?K?5?

"Patriktortonius" had flopped two pair, but it was no good as "Carlooo13" flopped Broadway. The 7? turn gave "Patriktortonius" a flush draw, but it would be the K? river that would pair the board and improve him to a full house to win the $120,404.80 pot.

Here are some other Tuesday headlines as reported by HighStakesDB:

  • Cort "thecortster" Kibler-Melby was the day's biggest winner after banking $267,600 at the 2-7 triple draw tables on Full Tilt. His victim? That would be "Trueteller."
  • Ben "Ben86" Tollerene won $176,700 playing $100/$200 PLO on PokerStars against the likes of Ola "Odd_Oddsen" Amundsgard, Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond, and Rui "PepperoniF" Cao.
  • Alexander "joiso" Kostritsyn won $104,800 playing $400/$800 mixed on PokerStars. Most of it came off Chun Lei "SamRostan" Zhou.
