The Online Railbird Report: Jens "Jeans89" Kyll?nen Up $1.6 Million on the Year
For Jens "Jeans89" Kyll?nen, the past three months at the high-stakes tables have been great. Last week, he was one of three players to bank over $500,000 in profit, and he added another $320,000 this week, extending his year-to-date lead to over $1.6 million.
MaiseE is another player who has been on a tear. He was one of three players who won over $500,000 last week and topped this weeks leaderboard with $326,830 in profit (63 sessions/12,655). Not far behind was Ben Ben86 Tollerene, who padded his bankroll with $303,863 (53 sessions/3,921 hands).
Of course, where there are winners there are also losers, as Ilari Ilari FIN Sahamies found out when he finished as the biggest loser after dropping $277,148 (8 sessions/701 hands). Other who were in the red this week included Tsubi87 (-$238,413 in 242 sessions/18,287 hands), Gavin gavz101 Cochrane (-$231,533 in 125 sessions/13,638 hands) and doncarignano (-$205,114 in 72 sessions/6,187 hands).
Kyll?nen Wins $429,000 in Day Full of Big Action
On Thursday, Feb. 23, some $100/$200 pot-limit Omaha action started up in the early morning hours and lasted the better part of the afternoon. During that time there were some big winners and losers, with Jens Jeans89 Kyll?nen topping the leaderboard with $429,000 in profit, which gave him $1.5 million in winnings for the year.
In the biggest pot of the day, which occurred at a six-handed table, Tsubi87 ($12,422.50) opened for $600 under the gun only to have Kyll?nen ($151,610.20) three-bet to $2,340. Davin mTw-DaviN Georgi ($119,656.05) came along from the small blind, Tsubi87 called, and there was three-way action to the A?5?4? flop. Georgi was first to act and led out for $4,800, Tsubi87 moved all in for $10,082.50, and Kyll?nen three-bet $42,382.50. Not to be outdone, Georgi moved all in for $117,276.05, and Kyll?nen made the call.
Showdown
Kyll?nen | A?A?8?7? |
Georgi | A?6?3?5? |
Tsubi87 | K?10?Q?6? |
Kyll?nen was out in front with a flopped set of aces, but both his opponents held draws. Luckily for Kyll?nen, neither the 3? turn nor 10? river changed a thing and he scooped the $252,050 pot.
With so much action taking place, there were quite a few large pots. In the second largest of the day, which took place at a four-handed $100/$200 PLO table, Georgi ($87,485) opened for $600 under the gun and was called by Rafi refaelamit Amit ($28,665) on the button. Ilari Ilari FIN Sahamies ($199,737.82) then three-bet to $2,760 from the small blind, the big blind folded, and both Georgi and Amit made the call.
Sahamies wasted little time in betting $5,800 on the Q?7?4? flop, which only Georgi called. Again Sahamies led out on the 9? turn, this time $20,235, but he was quickly met with an all-in raise to $78,925. Sahamies made the call and the cards were turned up.
Showdown
Sahamies | 7?7?6?8? |
Georgi | Q?9?A?6? |
Georgi held top-two pair and the nut-flush draw, but he trailed Sahamies' flopped set. The river, 2?, was a blank and Sahamies took down the $177,930 pot.
In the third-biggest hand of the day, action was six handed when Georgi ($84,223.05) opened for $600 from the hijack. Kyll?nen then three-bet to $2,340 from the button, Sahamies called from the big blind, and Georgi opted for a four-bet to $10,300. Two calls ensued before all three players checked the 2?10?10? flop. When the 6? appeared on the turn, Sahamies checked, Georgi bet $11,200, Kyll?nen moved all in for $51,510.75, Sahamies folded, and Georgi made the call.
Showdown
Kyll?nen | J?9?8?3? |
Georgi | Q?A?A?5? |
Georgi was ahead with his aces, but needed to dodge a few draws to capture the $133,577 pot, which is exactly what he did when the 6? peeled off on the river.
Even though he lost two of the aforementioned hands, Georgi still managed to turn a profit on the day $300,000 in fact. Meanwhile, there were a couple of big losers including Ville Wahlbeck and patpatman, who lost $666,000 and $322,000 respectively.
Kyll?nen Keeps Momentum Going
After a superb Thursday, Jens Jeans89 Kyll?nen kept things rolling on Friday when he added another $213,000 to his bankroll, bringing his year-to-date winnings to the top of the leaderboard with $1.755 million. Kyll?nen played a mix of $50/$100 and $100/$200 PLO for about six hours against some high-stakes regulars.
In his biggest pot, play was six handed when 0Human0 ($35,080) opened for $600 from the hijack and Kyll?nen ($34,430.13) called from the button. Ilari Ilari FIN Sahamies ($59,572.50) then exercised his option in the big blind with a three-bet to $2,740, both his opponents called, and the flop came down 8?6?J?. Sahamies led out for $8,555, 0Human0 folded, and Kyll?nen moved all in for $31,690.13, which Sahamies called.
Showdown
Kyll?nen | 7?Q?Q?9? |
Sahamies | Q?10?6?9? |
Both players had big draws, but Kyll?nens queens were in the lead. The 8? turn was of no consequence, and while the Q? river gave Sahamies a straight, it also gave Kyll?nen a full house, and the $71,855 pot.
Kyll?nen topped the daily leaderboard, but he was followed closely by Alexey LuckyGump Makarev (+$205,000) and Gavin gavz101 Cochrane (+$146,000); on the other hand, Sahamies couldnt get anything going and wound up the days biggest loser after dropping $277,000.
"MaiseE" Up $1.1 Million in Two Weeks
Its always interesting to see a new face at the high-stakes games, and even more so when they win. Thats exactly whats happened with MaiseE, an unknown Swedish player (rumored to be William Thorsen) who has won nearly $1.1 million in two weeks.
MaiseE added to that total on Saturday when he won $220,000 and finished as the days biggest winner. In his biggest hand of the day, action was four handed at a $100/$200 PLO table when Gavin gavz101 Cochrane ($36,535.50) opened for $600 on the button. Ben Sauce123 Sulsky ($20,000) then three-bet to $2,000 from the small blind and MaiseE ($34,744.65) called from the big. After Cochrane called the additional $1,400, three players watched the flop fall 2?8?6?.
Sulsky was first to act and led out for $5,995, which MaiseE popped to $23,000. Cochrane then three-bet all in for $34,535.50, and both Sulsky and MaiseE called off, creating a pot worth $89,484.
Showdown
Sulsky | J?7?10?J? |
Cochrane | K?10?4?6? |
MaiseE | Q?8?9?8? |
Both Sulsky and Cochrane had flush draws but were far behind the flopped set of MaiseE. Neither the 4? turn nor 7? river changed a thing, and MaiseE raked in the pot.
Its also worth noting that Jens Jeans89 Kyll?nen had a rare losing day, dropping $94,000.
Tollerene Fighting Back
Ben Ben86 Tollerene was down approximately $250,000 on the year but steered the ship back toward even when he won $138,000 on Sunday. In one hand, he was playing four-handed $100/$200 PLO when Jens Jeans89 Kyll?nen ($28,090.65) opened for $600 on the button, Tollerene three-bet to $2,160 from the small blind, and Kyll?nen made the call, leading to the 9?2?7? flop.
Tollerene led out for $3,085.50, Kyll?nen raised to $13,931.50, Tollerene moved all in, and Kyll?nen called off his remaining $11,999.14.
Showdown
Tollerene | A?A?2?2? |
Kyll?nen | 6?8?J?Q? |
Kyll?nen had flopped an open-ended straight draw with a flush draw, and was up against the flopped set of Tollerene. The 4? turn gave Kyll?nen the flush and the lead, though he needed to dodge the board pairing on the river. Much to Tollerenes delight, the 9? did pair the board and gave him a full house to win the $56,456 pot.
Tollerene was the only six-figure winner on Sunday, while Rafi refaelamit Amit ended up being the biggest loser after dropping $269,000.
