Can You Play Online Poker in Oklahoma?

There is currently no legislation permitting online poker in the state.

Current Gambling Laws

In Oklahoma, there are more casinos than almost any other state. Some of those full-fledged casinos are under a tribal-state compact. In notable land-based casinos like Choctaw Casino Resort, Winstar World Casino and Resort, and the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino you can play live poker.

While almost every form of poker is regulated in Oklahoma, online poker isn't. The regulation almost happened in 2013 but it was rejected again. Since then, government officials haven't spoken about this issue and there is a lot of doubt if it will ever happen.

Most betting and gambling forms, like charitable games and raffle prizes, are regulated in this state but these laws are amongst the strictest around in the U.S. Recently, Oklahoma introduced a form of legal real cash online bingo. As yet, however, there are no legal options for online poker players.

Oklahoma lawmakers considered a bill to legalize sports betting in 2022, but the bill failed to advance through the House. Lawmakers may consider the issue again in 2023.
