There is currently no legislation permitting online poker in the state.

Current Idaho Gambling Laws

Idaho is not a state that you automatically think of when talking about online poker or poker of any form of gambling despite its relatively close proximity to the state of Nevada.

That said, certain forms of gambling are legal in the state of Idaho with seven casinos dotted around the Gem State. A single form of online gambling is also permitted, but the game of poker is deemed to be illegal in Idaho.

The Coeur D'Alene Casino opened a live poker room in 2014 at which time Idaho state officials argued poker was expressively illegal under the state's constitution. The tribal casino argued poker was legal through the state's pari-mutuel laws, but a year later, the state won when the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals sided with it, forcing the casino to close its poker room.

When it comes to online gambling, the only form that is legal in Idaho is off-track betting on horses. Even state lottery tickets cannot be purchased online.
