Obara Picks Off Bluff

Level 7
: 400/800, 800 ante

Jun Obara opened to 1,800 from late position and was called by Jeff Platt in the small blind as well as the player in the big blind.
All three players checked through the flop to the
turn at which point Platt led out for 2,000. That got the big blind player to fold but Obara, unconvinced, called.
Platt fired off a second barrel, this time pushing a meatier 11,000 into the middle, on the river. Obara clearly did not believe his opponent and made a quick call. "Jack and an eight, probably not great," rhymed Platt as he showed down
for the missed flush draw. Great or not, it was not good enough to win the pot as Obara held
for top pair.
