Vasilyev Kicks Nguyen Out of the Tournament

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Danny Nguyen moved all in for 97,000 from middle position and cleared the field all the way around to Vladimir Vasilyev, who called out of the big blind.

Danny Nguyen: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Vladimir Vasilyev: {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}

Nguyen had the superior kicker but got unlucky when the {8-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop paired Vasilyev. Neither the {q-Clubs} turn nor {6-Clubs} river helped Nguyen and he was eliminated from the tournament in 180th place for $4,380.

Gupta Goes for it All

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Ashish Gupta
Ashish Gupta

Action picked up on the river with over one 500,000 chips in the pot and two big stacks battling. Ashish Gupta looked at a board reading {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts} and decided to go all in.

Haim Orkrief was covered, and he called quickly for all of his chips.

Gupta revealed the {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for flopped trips and a turned full house.

Orkrief showed {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for the rivered full house of his own.

"He was behind the whole time," said a tablemate.

"Yeah, I check-raised him and he called," Gupta relayed details of earlier streets.

However it happened, Gupta's better full house earned him a bounty and one of the biggest stacks in the room.

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Michael McCauley raised to 22,000 from early position and Ekrem Bozkurt called from the button. Pierce Picou then three-bet jammed for 70,000 from the small blind and McCauley rejammed it. Bozkurt thought long and hard before calling off the 87,000 he had behind.

Ekrem Bozkurt: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
Michael McCauley: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Pierce Picou: {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Bozkurt went in with the best of it and successfully held after the board ran out a clean {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}.

Turoci Holds to Grab a Bounty

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Action picked up on the flop with Bhavin Khatri all in for 56,000 from the blinds. Todd Turoci made the call from late position and cards were on their backs.

Todd Turoci: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Bhavin Khatri: {9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Khatri had the open-ended straight draw and was looking for help. The {a-} turn and {2-} river weren't good enough, so Turoci scooped the pot and the bounty.

Panzica Makes Straight Flush to Stay Alive

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Samuel Panzica
Samuel Panzica

Sam Panzica went all in preflop from late position for 138,000. Action folded to table chip leader Rui Bouquet in the small blind who thought for about a minute before moving all in himself. The big blind folded and cards were tabled.

Rui Bouquet: {q-Spades}{5-Spades}
Sam Panzica: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} to give Panzica the straight flush and the full double.

"Woah, straight flush, do you get an envelope for that?" joked a tablemate.

Panzica didn't get a bonus, but he did double up and keep his tournament hopes alive.
