Afriat Doubles Through Hyun

Level 31 : 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Sung Hyun opened on the button, Eric Afriat put all but one chip in and then called off the rest from the small blind.

Hyun: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Afriat: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

"Yesss," Afriat hissed as the {8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flopped. The {2-Clubs} and {6-Spades} kept him best.

Hyun sent over 1.4 million.

Matthew Wantman Eliminated in 5th Place ($89,842)

Level 31 : 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Sung Hyun opened in the cutoff and called the shove of Matthew Wantman in the small blind, worth about 1 million.

Hyun: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Wantman: {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

It was a dominating spot for Hyun, thought that changed on the {10-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop. The {9-Spades} turn and {10-Spades} river didn't deliver what Wantman needed, though.

Afriat Rips on Hyun

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Sung Hyun opened in the hijack to 250,000 and got two callers. He bet 280,000 more on the {4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop and only Eric Afriat, on the button, continued, with the big blind mucking. Hyun barreled again for 650,000 on the {7-Spades} but Afriat immediately jammed.

It was only about 800,000 more but Hyun folded.

"Tens or jacks?" Will Failla asked.

"Better."

Failla Calls His Out

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Will Failla
Will Failla

Three players were all in preflop with Will Failla the shortest by a lot, only having about 600,000.

Failla: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
Sung Hyun: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Matthias Auer: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Failla called for the ace of diamond. The {7-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop had him changing his tune and asking for a spade. The dealer delivered the {4-Diamonds}, though. He resumed calling for the ace of diamonds.

On the river: the {a-Diamonds}. Failla celebrated wildly while Hyun's remaining stack of 3,065,000 was counted down. Auer sent that over.

"I trapped 'em!" Failla said with a laugh.

Decisive Hand Widens Auer's Lead

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Sung Hyun opened for 250,000 under the gun and Matthias Auer made it 925,000 in the small blind. Hyun peeled and the flop came {4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Auer bet 435,000 and Hyun called. The {5-Diamonds} brought a four-straight and a check from Auer. Hyun bet 820,000 and Auer called.

Auer checked the {9-Spades} river and Hyun patted the table after some thought. Auer opened {a-}{a-} and Hyun mucked.
