Denys Shafikov Eliminated in 25th Place ($31,704)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Kevin McKenzie moved all in for around 1.4 million under the gun and Denys Shafikov called off for 820,000 from the small blind.

Denys Shafikov: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Kevin McKenzie: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

It was a classic flip and the proverbial coin came down in McKenzie's favor after the board ran out {2-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} to give him a full house.

Scott Drobes
Scott Drobes

With a completed board of {10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts} showing, Scott Drobes moved his remaining chips on from the middle from the big blind and was called by Pim Gieles from late position.

Drobes showed {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for a pair of eights but he was way behind Gieles who flopped a set of tens {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Drobes took his exit in 26th place for $31,704.

John O'Neal Eliminated in 27th Place ($31,704)

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Matt Waxman moved all in for 895,000 under the gun and John O'Neal called off for 785,000 next to act. The rest of the players folded and the hands were tabled.

John O'Neal: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Matt Waxman: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

O'Neal held the superior pocket pair and held through both the {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} flop and {j-Hearts} turn. However, disaster struck when the {10-Diamonds} spiked on the river to give Waxman the two-outer for the win.

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Stephen Song
Stephen Song

Naor Slobodskoy raised to 125,000 from under the gun, Matthew Cohn three-bet jammed for 1,005,000 from late position and Stephen Song came over the top for 1,080,000 from the button.

Action folded back to Slobodskoy who snap-called having both players covered and all three hands were tabled.

Matthew Cohn: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Stephen Song: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Naor Slobodskoy: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Slobodskoy was licking his chops after seeing both his opponent's held an ace and the {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} runout eliminated both Cohn and Song from the tournament with each earning $27,860 respectively.

WSOP Big 50 Champ Runs Into Lilius Buzzsaw

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Femi Fashakin
Femi Fashakin

After Valentino Konakchiev opened with a raise from the cutoff, WSOP Big 50 bracelet winner Femi Fashakin three-bet to 430,000 from the button.

Taus Lilius then jammed his big stack in from the small blind, Konakchiev folded, and Fashakin quickly called off for approximately 2.2 million total.

Femi Fashakin: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Taus Lilius: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}

Just one hand after eliminating Michael Gathy, Lilius woke up with a monster to put Fashakin on the verge of elimination.

"Wow, what a set-up," Fashakin said as he stood up.

He then watched helplessly as the board ran out {3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{k-Clubs} to send him to the rail in 30th place for $27,860.

Big Slick Doesn't Do the Trick for Foxen

Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

A preflop raising war resulted in Alex Foxen getting his stack of roughly 1.7 million all in preflop in a classic flip against Thomas Eychenne.

Alex Foxen: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Thomas Eychenne: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Foxen was the one at risk and in need of improvement.

Unfortunately for him, that didn't happen as the board ran out {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} to send him out the door in 31st place for $27,860.

Gathy Dusted By Lilius

Michael Gathy
Michael Gathy

After Femi Fashakin raised from the cutoff, Michael Gathy three-bet from the small blind. Taus Lilius responded by moving all in from the big, Fashakin folded, and Gathy called off his short stack.

Taus Lilius: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Michael Gathy: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

The {6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop gave Gathy a diamond flush draw, but he failed to connect as the {k-Clubs} bricked on the turn followed by the {4-Hearts} on the river.

Gathy was eliminated in 32nd place for $27,860.
