Thorston Schafer Eliminated in 24th Place (£5,624)

Thorsten Schafer - 24th place
Thorsten Schafer - 24th place

With the first four players folding quickly in turn, Thorston Schafer looked down at {Q-Spades} {J-Spades} and shoved all in for a bit less than 40,000 total. In the big blind, Peter Wood squeezed out the {A-Clubs} and said, "Oh, that isn't a good card for you." When he peeked at the other card, he instantly shot out of his chair and half-yelled, "I call!" It was {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs}, and it was bad news for the at-risk Schafer.

There was a little sweat on fourth street, but the board of {K-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {3-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} was ultimately not enough for Schafer's chances to double. He's out with the first paycheck of Event #1, taking home more than twice his buy-in for a good showing over the past two days.
