Zawadowicz Falls to Merzhvinskii

Level 10 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

With almost 20,000 in the middle, Pawel Zawadowicz and Aleksandr Merzhvinskii were heads-up in the blinds.

The flop came {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs}, Zawadowicz check-called the 6,500 continuation-bet of Merzhvinskii.

The turn was the {9-Hearts}, Zawadowicz checked again and now Merzhvinskii bet 16,500. Zawadowicz called to see the {8-Spades} complete the board on the river. Zawadowicz checked for the last time. Merzhvinskii looked over to see how much Zawadowicz had behind, took some time, and then put Zawadowicz all-in. Zawadowicz called for the 66,500 he had behind.

Merzhvinskii tabled {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for quads and Zawadowicz quickly flicked his cards towards the muck. Merzhvinskii pointed at the cards for the dealer to expose them. The dealer obliged and showed Zawadowicz had {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for two pair.
